The 2005–06 Ford GT is on a recent hot streak
by Greg Ingold //
June 28, 2019

The GT’s interest has steadily grown over the years, and even with a new GT on the market, interest is strong and prices average about double of the original MSRP. Currently the GT carries a Hagerty Vehicle Rating of 66.

[The HVR is a 0–100 point scale that measures how a collector vehicle is performing compared to the overall market. A score below 50 means a car is lagging behind, 50 means a car is keeping pace, and a score above 50 indicates a hot market—the higher, the hotter.]

The GT’s score of 66 is a bit of a rebound from a low score of 20 in February. This four-month bounceback is among the largest month-over-month gains in HVR score among all of the vehicles we measure.

Does this mean that the GT is primed to see more increases in value? Not necessarily. What it does mean is that the GT market is more active and healthy in terms of cars offered, sold, and quoted than where the overall market was a year ago. It doesn’t mean prices are about to shoot off into the stratosphere.

NOTICE- FULL DISCLOSURE- To anyone considering buying my Heritage.

I am now in discussion with four different parties, and the only fair and ethical way I can think of to handle the sale is to reserve the car for whoever first gets a deposit to me, to hold the car in their name, while we work out details, PPI, transportation, and final payment.

I hope this sounds fair to everyone looking.

Thanks,

Eddie

I think that the condition of these original tires, the only ones ever on the car, tell a lot about how the car has been treated/driven.
Can you see the paint stripes at the bottom of the treads?

Cheers,

Eddie

Before any money changes hands on this sale, I want to point out the small blisters or bumps in the blue part of my hood, one pretty small area on each side, I think a combined total of ten bumps. They have not changed over the last several years, and they have not bothered me enough to the point I wanted to take a chance on trying to fix them.
Here is some discussion about this that I copied off of the forum here.

"shelbyelite said:

Guys, the paint blistering can be fixed with a good wetsand and buff. We have seen it on SEVERAL cars and have never had a problem fixing it in this fashion. What is to believed to have caused this is contaminents in the raw surface before the paint was applied. Sometimes different climates will cause these bubbles/blisters to appear. We have yet to have to RE-PAINT to fix the issue. If you have a GOOD body shop or paint shop in your area, have them wet sand the area and buff it back out and the bubbles should be gone. I have even seen these bubbles on delivery mile cars. They are just a known flaw in the production of the GTs
Yup,Shelby is right, had these bubbles on my hood (20 miles)that was basically never in the sun or ever washed before they appeared.Removed the hood and had it wet sanded and polished at a body shop about a year and a half ago and they since have not returned."

More info on this in the "paint is blistering" thread.

The last two pictures here are centered on the affected area.

Cheers,

Eddie

More pictures, with the last two centered on the area.

My Eddie Hills Fun Cycles logo is a vinyl, and I've never had any problems removing them- just carefully warm them a bit with a hair dryer, and they peel right off. I'll be happy to remove it for a buyer and replace it with a 1, or whatever number wanted, I have all the other numbers still in the box that came with the car.

Cheers,

Eddie

DEPOSIT RECEIVED- SALE IN PROGRESS- THANKS TO ALL FOR ALL THE KIND COMMENTS!

I will make the following offer to anyone who wants to buy my Heritage, but needs to sell something first.

With a reasonable deposit, I will wait for up to six months at no interest, to give you time to sell your item, and make the final payment. And I can wait even longer for final payment, if needed, but would want some interest for any time over six months.

I actually waited a year for final payment on the last Ariel Atom I sold, to give my buyer time to sell a house, and that worked out fine for both of us.

Cheers,

Eddie

Yes,but I got information on the quick release for the dry oil sump from you and ordered. Also Rejex which I had never tried has proven good for the belly pans...I have learned a lot from this thread.

$394,980 is correct. (Thank you Pockets!) And still available as of now. We have had conversations, but no deposit yet.

I'll have you know, Mr. D., washing #1079 was a no-no.
H.p. air and microfiber towels only! Damp ones here-and-there on occasion.
Oh, wait a sec...I DID wash the wheels and tires. 'Danged pesky brake dust...ya know?

Uh...shouldn't you be working on the "Friday Funnies" about now...? ;-)
