Dr Colorchip works!!!

Ralphie, do you have similar info for Tungsten with silver stripes? Thanks.

Howard

Paint Code for Tungsten: T8 (Also called Tungsten Silver and Tungsten Grey - generic); Touchup is PMP-19500-7145A

Primer Touchup is PMP-19500-1000
Clear Topcoat Touchup is PMP-19500-6000

I'm not sure about the Silver stripe on the Tungsten cars, as it's not listed in the Motorcraft Chemicals and Lubricants Catalog per se. However the 2005 Silver cars were:

Paint Code for Quick Silver: TL (Also known as Satin Silver - generic); Touchup is PMP-19500-7049A

The Satin Silver (TL) is also used on the 2006 Mustangs, so it''s probably a safe bet that this is the stripe color on the GT.

There is another 2006/2005 silver listed for the Focus, Taurus, and Fusion and the 2005 Ford 500; and Lincoln/Mercury's 2006 Milan and Zepher and 2005 Sable and Montego:

Paint Code for CD Silver: TS (Also known as Silver Frost): Touchup is PMP-19500-6720A

Great info. Thank you.

Thanks for the detailed info
Is then the silver stripe on black cars the 2005 Quicksilver TL?

I believe so.

Since Saleen did the painting and stripe installation, I would assume that, for the 2005 cars, the white stripes are "Centinnial White," the black stripes are "Mark II Black," the silver stripes are "Quicksilver," and the blue stripes are "Midnight Blue."

I'll try to call Todd Helms on Tuesday to verify this.

I don't know about the other colors, but the blue stripe on a white and blue is not midnight blue.

Received my kit from DR Colorchip, but I admit I am daunted by the prospect of " smearing " paint on my car.

Also, unfortunately, today I had the transport driver point out to me some lower body chips ( road rash? ), likely from recent track time, so I do need to be able to make some repairs.

I am bringing both car and kit to Vegas, and would really appreciate it if any of you who have had successful hands-on experience with this product could give me a few pointers on proper use, if time permits.

Thanks a lot.

Bill,

Unfortunately, I have another engagement and can't be at the Rally but since I posted this thread let me take a shot at it for you.

First use the smallest applicator and find an out of the way chip that you need to fix. Second work an amount of paint into the spot . let it dry for about 20 minutes then use the cloth and #2 like the directions state. Rub lightly. then buff the area around the repair. DO NOT try to fill a chip in the first pass while you are learning. I did on a few and found that I rubbed too hard and had to go back and retouch my repairs. So my advice is factor that in a bit and just try it in two stages to get a flat repair. Once you get the hang of it a single swipe is no issue. I had to repair about 30 places on the BMW so I had huge practice before I did 1161.

Have no fear ... its a simple process .. really.

Good Luck...

PM me if you need a helpful voice to call and walk you thru it ...

Paint codes for the brake calipers? Red, grey and black? Information would complete the above.

Haven't been able to get ahold of Todd this week - I'll continue trying. I'll get the information on the calipers as well as the stripes.

Update:

I talked today with a gal named Christine who works with Todd, and also worked on the GT's. She confirmed that the paint codes for the stripes are DIFFERENT than the base exterior colors, also those for the calipers.

They currently are not readily available, and they will have to look them up in their computer system, but they are very, very busy at this time and it may take some days (or weeks) to get to my request - but that they will send it to me.

I also asked for the code for the interior silver color.
