Does anyone know what manufacturer supplied FORD with the GT gauges?

Be -extraordinarily- careful if you try to pull individual gauges out of your instrument cluster. Be very liberal in applying blue painters tape anywhere that's near your gauge pulling tool.

50BMG-
Have you removed any of the gauges individually? I would have thought you need to drop the gauge panel and remove a retainer behind the gauge you want to remove. Is this not the case?
Any more insight?

The company that assembled the dash at put everything together in a single unit that was shipped to Ford was W.K. INDUSTRIES, INC.

They also machined the tools and manufactured the external underbody aerodynamic air diffusers.

This is straight out of the year book that ford put together for the team members that worked on the GT project "Ford GT Team History"

I watched Fred (can't remember his last name, it is very long) drop a gauge out of a car at Wixom. They taped off the dash (as it scratches incredibly easy), removed the screws, then he and another guy pulled the entire cluster out together. I would recommend another set of hands (sitting in the passenger seat) if you plan to do this due to the length of the instrument cluster.

Unfortuneately that was all I saw. Right after they got the cluster out, we had to go on the last Wixom tour of the day.

If you want I can get you his number... I can get it to you in about a week (his card is up in Montana at the moment, and I'm in AZ for a few more days). DBK or someone else in the Detroit area might be able to get you his number as well.

Instrument panel replacement

Anyone tried to replace the black plastic panel or know of a carbon fiber kit to cover it? It looks pretty chintzy to me. A real piece of carbon fiber would look much better than the grained plastic Ford used.

What plastic are you talking about exactly? Something we all learned at the detroit rally is that alot if not all of that cheap plastic that is in the clam shell and trunk is actually carbon fiber. It is uni-directional which obviously means runs one way... This way we don't have the look our seats have... The seats are a bi or tri directional carbon fiber hence the traditional carbon fiber pattern we are so use too.... There is alot of carbon fiber on our car we just didn't know it.
