Dashboard Lights

My dashboard lights turn off after about 4 minutes. I can reset by turning off the lights and back on, but then they turn off again in about 4 minutes. Does nayone have a solution to this?

Wow, that's a good one. Never heard of this. Does it do this with both parking and low beams? A few people have replaced light switches, but not with symptoms like this.

That's a common problem - although typically it will happen in just under 4 minutes. The problem is that after about 3 minutes of desperately trying to hold the reins back, it quickly becomes impossible to refrain anymore and you give the car a little leash. Whap! Warp drive is obtained. The dash lights are really on but you just cannot "see" them because both you and the light are traveling at the same speed.

Toggling the switch works occasionally (as you noted) because this causes the flux capacitor to discharge enough for you to see the lights. But, as long as the car is on and not restrained warp drive is maintained and they will disappear again.

No easy fix that is known yet.

is your battery fully charged?

Kendall, I didn't expect that from you. Too funny for a usually serious guy.

Sorry I took so long to reply. The car is all stock and I brought it to our ford delealer, but they seem to know very little about GT's. Does anyone have a recommendation where to bring a GT in New Orleans?

I think the lights may have a bad sensor becuse the headlights stay on.

Thanks for the help

Is it possible that it is a Canadian car? (The Canada cars have the headlights on all of the time.)
