I have an OEM set of GT coil covers. The current covers are marred. Is there anything special I need to know about removal and installation. I am no mechanic, is the process simple

Super easy. Unscrew and pop the new ones on.

It may also be a good idea to tape off any potential contact points to avoid scratches.

Don't drop anything. It will fall into the belly pans and hard to get at or see and may necessitate removing the diffuser/belly pan. Have a long hemostat/clamp handy in case you drop something and can get at it. One of the owners here had some new bolts made for us that don't tarnish. Do a search to see the particulars.
