Clutch, Transmission, or Shifter issue?

I've noticed a few times now that when I'm pushing the car a bit (not even on the track), soemtimes it is difficult to shift out of 2nd and 4th gear. This is different from notchy shifting into second when the trans is cold. The effort requires to take the shifter out of 4th is similar to the effort requires to put the car into reverse. The engagement point of the cluth is also quite high (80%?). Has anyone run into this problem? BTW, I have the Ford Racing Short Shifter installed? Do I have bubbles into the line?

Not sure this applies to the GT, but on Vipers the clutch hose runs close to the exhaust. One cure was to run a higher temp motul fluid. If you get a chance trace the hose routing.

Mine's fine. Sounds like your tunnel linkage might be a little too tight or need some grease. The cable and counter balance aren't hitting anything in the engine compartment are they?

A friend of mine here in Minneapolis has an 06 which was hard or impossible to get into reverse. Apple Valley Ford, south of Minneapolis just replaced the whole transmission. We are swapping my car for his out there tomorrow -- to get rid of a squeak that is driving me nuts. We think the cost for the replacement was about 18,000$. Luckily he is still under warranty.

Any thoughts of buying and extended warranty?

Wow------ What a warranty claim!

BTW - if you find an extended warranty from FoMoCo, let us know
