I just read a blog on Supercars.net that listed the Ford GT chassis at 27,100 Nm per degree of flex. Pretty good compared to other super cars.

'cuda,

Yes, indeed. It's also very noticable when jacking up the back end of the car. Ford engineer's did a superb job on optimizing it!

This overview on the GT chassis should be of interest.

Here is another one with a bit more detail.

The article mentions the use of aluminum and carbon fiber:

Materials and Manufacturing
The Ford GT team was challenged to use
breakthrough applications of carbon fiber and
lightweight aluminum to deliver a world-class
frame and body. The aluminum allows the
team to preserve styling and the carbon fiber
offers strength and durability – both help to
reduce weight.

What is made of carbon fiber on the GT?

The seat backs?

And the inner clamshell as well. It doesn't look like carbon because the weave isn't exposed but it is the genuine article. From a manufacturing standpoint, the clamshell is one of the most impressive features of the car. The carbon fiber inner liner is mated to the aluminum skin for rigidity. The entire assembly is very nicely engineered and executed (with the possible exception of the air intake inserts which don't fit as nicely as they should).

A lot of the car is carbon fiber, just monolayer, that's why it doesn't look like your seatbacks.
