Car pulls to side on hard acceleration

UPDATE: Car pulls to 1 side only on hard acceleration

Gents-
Had my GT out today cruising in nice warm weather. Have good Bridgestones on it.
Car tracks perfectly straight down the highway while cruising at 60-80mph.
However, with moderate-harder acceleration, car noticeably pulls to the left.
Definitely feels a bit off. Only happens with moderate plus acceleration.
Weird - Any thoughts appreciated.

Tire pressure?
 
1 side broken axle bolts?
 
Pressures good. Replaced half shaft bolts back in the day. Odd as only when get on throttle, otherwise tracks straight even with hands off wheel
 
Tire pressures will do this but if you checked them then that's not it. More than likely rear toe links. Seen and replaced many. The inner side of the joint (ball and socket) wears and causes this.
New toe links, good 4 wheel alignment, and should be good to go.


If the axle bolts broke and the half shaft became dislodged the car won't move under its own power. We still see original bolts in cars every now and then.

I've seen this with tire pressure also , double check again maybe with a different gauge..
 
Ditto what Rich said. I haven't had this experience in a GT yet, but I have had it in other cards with similar rear suspensions. The links get worn and the rear toe changes on acceleration, leading to "pushing" it slightly off to one side. I'll bet it's even more noticeable if you get on the power in a turn, and it probably feels like the rear is sliding a bit.

Mine does the same, the car has 3,000 miles. I thought I was spinning the tires but then I tried at 70mph and still pulled to the left.

Anyone have a part# in case I need them?
 
Guys are calling this a "pull."

Isn't it actually a "push?"

If it's the rear toe links, I don't think it will cause a pull on the steering wheel (as would for example a low front tire, front-end misalignment, FWD torque steer).

yes the rear will steer the front when the ball joint on the end link is broken, and it is not always visible. Been there, done that.
 
Jax you can order direct from England. Follow David jones' link or you can have GTGuys get it for you. Spirit had this done at the rally in Detroit.
 
I felt the same drifting to the left during smooth but hard acceleration at higher speeds and after reading this thread and speaking with Rich (GTG) ordered a set and am in the closing stages of putting the passenger side back together. Here are my notes and some photos:

That's good info. I need to change oil and inspect everything while I have the rear diffuser off. How much do these links cost?
 
The rear toe link PN is 4G7Z-5B551-A. PM if you need any. I have them in stock

Presumably, one needs to redo 4 wheel alignment after replacing these?
I spoke to one shop in my town who does race like cars. they said need to get them a camber shim kit for front and rear?
