Finally, besides the Tesla two electric cars that did not make me want to :ack!!

First link is the new Caddy electric concept the Converj. I would like to see the no mirrors/panorama camera feature in action.

Hey - those are BOTH pretty hot looking cars. I saw the Dodge at Cars and Coffee probably 2 months ago. Looked like something I could be seen in :) I am sure that for both of these cars, price will a difficult barrier to overcome. As more and more E-Cars start hitting the road, and companies come up with new battery technology - prices will HOPEFULLY come down.

Not sure I'm ready to jump on the electric bandwagon (it's REALLY cold here for a lot of the year, I wonder how batteries will do in this clime, and I still wonder where [which landfill :thumbsdow] all the dead batteries are going to go in 5 years from now.......)

Now having said that, I've been diggin' on this since it was first announced http://www.myride.com/snacker-vehic...how_photo_gallery_concept_cars-708-page4.html First the 4 door coupe (http://www.myride.com/auto_shows/autoshow-3406-page1.html) and then WOW, this stunner!!! :thumbsup

Hmmm, I wonder if they'll be allowed into Canada.......

I liked the looks of the Caddy Converj from the get-go. There isn't a "bad" viewing angle ON that car...inside or out. 'Only real 'issue' (as P.N. mused above) is what I HEAR the price will be...$80K or so. My bet is it'll actually be higher.

I am real partial to convertibles. It is a beautiful car. Two things though. One, how quick will the recharge of an electric car take? If you are on a road trip do you want to have a two hour "charging" stop? And like you noted, how will the batteries take extreme cold?

Second, sports cars in particular, I like the exhaust note. Definitely part of the allure. That is missing from an electric car.....although I did read where one concept electric had a switch so you could pipe in proper engine noise into the cabin. You could even select different engine noise from V-8's to V-12's. I guess you would call it the engine soundtrack option. :lol

When I saw that Caddy pic I was pleasantly surprised. For a "practical" car it had great lines.

If the Caddy is like the Chevrolet Volt and I heard that it is then recharging is optional. It has a gasoline engine on board that will start and recharge the batteries. It will run up to 40 miles on a charge alone. The volt will calculate if you are heading home and charge the batteries enlugh to get there. Once you are home you can plug it in for a full charge.

I am going to have outside electrical outlets installed at my office for charging during the day. I am done with OPEC except for my toys.

I have never owned a Chevrolet, but I'm on the waiting list for the Volt for a daily driver.
