Likewise, I didn't much like the wheels fitted to the GTXs. They look to me like they are trying to hard to be different. The Forgelines look more appropriate.

I still think you oughtta get a set of base wheels on it--those were unique to the GT, whereas, the 5/10 spoke BBS pattern is now on many other cars.

Interesting ... Bring a Trailer actually sold this '06 GTX1 with Base wheels (and Bridgestones) back in Oct '19 ... https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-ford-gt-13/ ... talk about stripe delete, how 'bout sticker delete ...

New Forgeline wheels20’s and 19’s
Huge weight savings 21lb per rim Forgelines vs
42 lbs for the red rims that came with the car
The Forgeline's look fantastic. Way better then the red rims, in my opinion.

I'm not second-guessing Camilo either, but what's interesting is that the pix of the Roketman's and Dreimer's red cars WITHOUT the side stripes made me say "Oh, I like that!"

Then, the pix of the Dr914's red GT WITH the stripes made me say "Oh, I like that!"

To my eye, it looks like the FORD GT lettering stands out more without the stripes. Oh, I like that too.

Here’s a thought. One side with , one side with out
That’s how I made my decision! I have a 1:12 scale Motor max Gt model. Took one side off and looked at the model both ways for a few weeks.
Well you know my decision

I like the Forgelines a lot but holy cow those look like seriously undersized tires.

I know you are a primo driver and know what you are doing, but wow.

The tires are massive. But I put on Pilot sport cup 2’s that have a smaller side wallThe previous tires had a larger side wall. But I just looked at a picture with the other wheels and the ride eight looks high with those as well, It has adjustable spring plates. So it will get lowered very soon!
I too am not a fan of the rally ride height!

IMO:

If you leave the side decals on, you'll have many questions being asked about "What's a GTX1?"

If you take them off, you'll just get the usual "What kind of car is that?"

I'm leaning toward leaving them on. It is an extremely unique car (on top of being an already very unique car) so doing the explanations would be worth it to me. I never mind educating the curious, so long as they're respectful and not trying to car-jack me.
