To my GT Brothers,

The Bonneville 100 Open Road Race is coming up soon but you can still get your entries in. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND - This is a ROAD RACE - no salt to screw up your cars. It is a two way race, 50 miles down, regroup, re-fuel, grab lunch, and then a 50 mile run back. The MINIMUM AVERAGE SPEED you will run will be 95 MPH, and most of you will qualify for at least 120 MPH AVERAGE speed. If you have never driven a car over 100 MPH for almost an hour, you will absolutely LOVE THIS.

Go to - www.openroadracing.com

I hope to see you there. I'll be driving my 216.9 MPH Big Black Camaro in their top class, 175 MPH average speed. To put that in perspective, that is 100 miles in slightly over 34 minutes........

Looks like a great event, wish it wasn't so far away from here

Good luck Richard, not like you need it. :thumbsup

Can't wait to hear how the Camaro performs. Be sure to snap a pic or two. :cheers

Richard - i am registered for the 150 mph Grand sport 5 class :biggrin i will driving my Ford GT 100 miles in 40 minutes flat this year :cool depending on how many cars are registered for my class i may or may not go for the hand timer award :thumbsup

i look forward to seeing you there :usa and my wife looks forward to spending all my $$$ on the slot machines :lol

i hope she hits the jackpot and i hope i win my class :cheers

Fast Freddy,

I look forward to seeing you again. This is going to be a blast. I know there is no chance of improving on my best 170 performance as that was a 170.0000 and a time variance of 0:00.000 at the Pony Express a couple of years ago. But I'll still be trying very hard to win my class....

Looking forward to meeting you both! My son and I will be in the 130? group. Any idea obout where to stay?

Jim and Ryan

anya - the 130 mph class at the Bonneville 100 back in 2006 is where open road racing all started for me. i am staying at the Wendover Nugget. which is the headquarters for the racing operations. i would bet that at least 50% of the racers if not almost all of them stay at this hotel/casino. tell them you are with MKM and you will get a discount. i assume you will be racing your GT?

Freddy,

way to go man. Go do us, the Mojave Gang, proud!!

:thumbsupFred Of course the GT (the silver GT we had in TX ) We are driving there and staying in the hotel. If it works out next time we could maybe bring the fr500c? Looking forward to next week.:thumbsup

Jim

I just have a few small items to take care of and then the Camaro goes in the trailer. It is looking pretty sharp for an old beater. We are trying some different gearing so we don't know exactly how it will perform. I am very sure it will do over 200 but I am not sure if it will go 215. We'll find out soon.

My crew chief (and entire crew) Tom Petersen is arriving home from his son's wedding trip to Hawaii at about 2:00 AM on Wednesday the 23rd and packing a bag and driving to my home for our 4:00 AM departure for Wendover. I guess I'll be doing most of the driving on Thursday.

See you all there,
Richard Hille

Any update on how things went?

Three GTs started and finished. Unfortunately only 50% of the Camaros finished. Two won awards, fast Freddy and Dr Abe. Ryan and I were "rookies" and made all the rookie mistakes so dq'd. Richard should bring his GT next time? What a wonderfuk experience, very well run, not expensive and got to meet Freddy and Joe.
