I am considering going ahead with the purchase of a BMW M3 for my daily driver ( 2008 to 2009 model year )

I am sure that there are members here on the forum that either own thes cars or have owned them

I have a couple of questions and i was iondering if i could get some feed back

1- Can anyone reccomend a reputable dealer in the states to get the car from , you cant buy in canada because the prices are ridiculous
2- What if any are the biggest things to watch out for , do these cars have pattern issues or are they pretty reliable
3- I have seen that the higher milegae cars go for a lot less money and seeing as these are just another production car , there will be no value there in a few years do you think the mileage is a big concern
4- Is the bmw M3 the exact same body style as the BMW 335 and BMW 328 or is it modified for the M3 option

Thanks guys for any feed back

I have had one since 08 and it is my daily summer driver.

1. Lots of dealers, may want to start with a us dealer close to you.

2. I have not really had any issues in 41xxx miles.

3. Probably no biggie. If you buy a cpo car, you can even pre buy scheduled service, beyond the already included service.

4. Quite different, obviously a v8, also more subtle differences are, the fenders flare more, dome in the hood, front valence is different, the "gills" under the a pillar, if an e92 (2 door) and no sunroof will have a carbon fiber roof. And as with all m cars, quad tip exhaust. Interior seats are different.

I have been very happy with this car, absolutely I have the 6 speed. Only mods I did, was BMW performance steering wheel, short shifter, and a corsa exhaust.

I think the V8 M3 could be a keeper. Not a fan of the upcoming change to a smaller engine even with turbos.

Couple things that came to mind. This car was virtually unchanged over its run, couple colors, like the "frozen" matt colors, and the orange lime rock edition. Other changes (not sure what year) but there was a big change to the GUI of I drive. Lastly (2010 ish) was the addition of the competition package, most notable is a 19" basket style wheels
