Ditto in New York State............but, be aware that washing titles is also possible. Running a salvage title from state to state, until it is obscured into a clean title (in states that do not recognize the total factor) will be sold to a unsuspecting buyer as a clean car....car fax will still show the accident, but hard to determine the $ amount, therefore...when it's to good to be true..it usually is. I suspect the reason the car was totalled is because of the frame damage in this type car. Insurance companies shy away from getting married to an insured with damages on a car that might come back to haunt them....easier to total the car, and close the file. You guys in Fl., are you aware that a salvaged titled car cannot ever be registered in that state? Eventually, all states will change to that law.
