Battery #2 lasted about 6 years.
Where do we currently stand?
OEM optima or the Sears Diehard?

Just replaced mine with the Red Top from Autozone online purchase was 20% off with local pickup ($175 after rebate). I had a platinum Diehard in it, but I couldn't find the right group size this time around. Not sure if it was discontinued or not.

The Sears Die Hard has been discontinued (DieHard Automotive Battery, Sears Item# 02850080000, Model# P-3 Platinum P-3 - Group Size 75/86DT ). Saw the Odyssey at the OC car show at their booth, pricey but super light relative to the Optima. Not 100% sure on dishing out North of $500 for a battery :rofl
 
Sears was discontinued several years ago. There is a good thread here about it. Try searching.

So is Optima the only options now?
 
I don't remember the other options, but I couldn't get them in the St. Louis area so I went to Ford and got a new Optima. My original lasted 8 years. That's why I said do the search. There weren't many choices.

Don't touch Sears...they'll be gone within a very short time, just when your battery needs warranty! LOL

What's the OEM battery retail for?
 
Odyssey - - 75/86-PC1230DT is $238 shipped from amazon. Just FYI and that is the direct replacement for the Sears Platinum Group 75 that we have been using.
 
I went to a battery wholesaler and found an AGM battery the same size as the discontinued Sears. The forward facing side terminals come close to our metal chassis so I used plastic terminal covers on them for safety. No issues on fit or performance. I keep it charged with a C-TEK maintainer.

Sears Diehard AGM - - Same as above
Autozone Duralast Platinum AGM - - Same as above
Optima Red Top - - 25-OR
Odyssey - - 25PC1400T
Odyssey - - 75/86-PC1230
 
Autozone does not list a group 75/86 in the Duralast Platinum and I do not see another in the 11 models they do carry that would fit well.

Sears dropped the Diehard Platinum P-3 several years ago.
