The GT's been dormant for a month, so when I went to crank it up today, and the doors wouldn't open, I knew I was in trouble. I called Rich and he said to try the door with the key, but no luck. I pulled the front tray and put a trickle charger on the battery, so we'll see what happens. Any suggestions?

To hell with the trickle charger - connect the leads to another charged 12 Vdc Battery, and open the doors, roll down the driver's window, and you'll have access with the internal door handle - then figure out what you want to do with the battery situation.
Not a big deal, If you insert the key in the door and turn 1/4 turn it will manually unlock the door. There is an old thread about this. I cant remember if its CW or CCW though.
You actually have to press in on the door rather hard while you turn the key to the right a quarter turn. You feel like you are about to break the key, but it will open the door. Just be careful

If the battery is under 11 volts the trickle charger probably won't help. Go with Ralphie's suggestion and jump with another battery. Or add a known good battery and trickle charge the both of them. I have revived a Ford GT battery by charging this way.
Battery was shot, went to Sears, got the replacement, bolted it in, everything's groovy.

No, as a matter of fact, it didn't. The battery wouldn't take a charge either, so I just looked up battery replacement, found the Sears unit, and bam, car is cool. Gauges appear ok as well. Cause of the dead battery? I left the f-ing radar detector on, and I don't know how.

Depending on how you wired in your detector, it should shut off automatically (direct to fuse box #10), or off the dome light (maybe a minute delay). I've never had to "push in" on my door to unlock with the key. I do it periodically to may sure the locks not dirty or stuck.
