Barrett-Jackson GT Forum Dinner - 2009

Chip, It was wonderful to see you last night and to give you a big HUG on our first day in Scottsdale. Sue and I have you and your Family in our prayers Buddy. Tomy & Sue

If anyone would like to join Bony and I for drinks, stop by the Sanctuary before dinner. I believe El Bonero will be here around 5:30. It is one road south of the road the El Chorro lodge is on. I think it's McDonald or McDowell or something.

God Bless you and your family Chip. I pray for angels to provide you comfort.

Many thanks Chip, for putting together tonight's dinner. It was a real pleasure meeting many of great people that are part of this family.

What a great evening with my favorite people. It don't get any better than this! Chips friends gathered together with him tonight to help him through these difficult times. A great time. Tomy Hamon

Thanks again Chip! You are a legend of the Ford GT Forum!

Thank you for sharing.

I see that you decided to memorialize the Metallic Burgundy (I think that's what you would call THAT color) and Gold Pantera. Were you planning on sharing the picture with Sam so that he can finally get White and Orange out of his subconscious? :ack

Did you happen to catch it going across the block? I have never seen a bid price go up...then down...then up...then down...several times. It must have risen and fallen four times. I suspect you don't subscribe to the theory of 'chandelier bidding', but what would one call it? It's suspect that it really sold.

Ghastly.

No, never saw it go across, lets agree to say, someone loved it, and spent a lot of $$$ getting it that way. Could be a buy back, have no clue, lots of first time money and they are selling cars. Have watched very closely sales over at Gooding and RM.

Kingman - there was what seemed to be a bit of confusion between the "bidder watchers" on this one. I was amused to see the price go up, then down as the fella that was inputting the bid dollars was receiving multiple "yea" calls but they were acutally for the same bidder. The downward pricing was to correct the floor/communication mistake. This happened 2-3 times last night.

Usually happened when a bidder was close to the podium. Seemed to me that the podium group would see the bidders actions, adjust the price up, and then a few seconds later the floor guy would signal a "yea" and the price would go up again.

Lotta of gold/metal flake on this one. Not my cup of tea. Looked good in the sunshine if you liked the bling.

I kept asking myself "why did someone really do this?" all day long. To each his own when it comes to taste!

To me it looked like something Sammy Davis would drive in his time. Strange custom Pantera, it actually sold for $50,000 plus fees. Even had gold coins attached to the center caps pf the gold plated wire wheels. Obviously a lot of money for the bling. Tomy Hamon PS Trying to purchase a Boss 302 0r a Mach I at a reasonable price was very difficult Friday. I tried!

Gaping maw

I thought twice about buying the horrid thing, taking all of the gold parts off and sending them to that 'Get Money For Your Old Gold' service on TV. I wonder if they ever received an exhaust manifold??
The owner likely would have gotten a better bid at the Chicago Merc.

Arizona guys!
Regret I have had to head home. My father in law passed away this morning.
He was 93, a silver star vet who jumped in on D Day with the 101st and fought all the way to Bastone.
Spent his career as a firefighter. Frank A Lange RIP.
God bless his soul and America,
Daniel

Bony,
We're glad we got to see you at El Chorro! Thank you for your help with the events!

You and your family are in our prayers. Travel safe.
Blessings.
