Awesome Weekend Awesome Car Met Awesome People

Carroll signed it with a silver permanent pen and told me he had only signed one other FGT and wanted mine to be the last. Thats very personal, and he is very personal when it comes to his old friends and aquaintances from the 60's. I am very careful about where I park it (as to the sun) but know of nothing to use to preserve it. I would be afraid to spray anything on the leather dash pad. I have thought about tinting the side windows but not sure how it would look on a white/blue FGT, any thoughts? Carrolls ability to get in and out of vehicles is very limited and he really hates it but he told me most people understand and thats why he will sign things at his office for a donation to his Childrens Heart Foundation. For those who were with members at the surprise dinner with Carroll at the Peterson Museum in Sept. he was having a difficult time seeing what he was signing inder the very dim lighting and suggested everyone having there picture taken with him. What a gentleman as he stayed until the last one was taken. As I remember noone was left out and it took about an hour and half as we had some 125-130 people there that night. He really loves the Forum members and had a great time that night and tells me often. I think we'll have even more fun with him in Sept. That's why Daves is planning our next group to Las Vegas so be patient, it will be worth it. Tomy Hamon

Your airbag is plastic, not leather. Notice the difference in the color of the dash and the airbag.

Tomy, Floridaho has tint on his white/blue. Looks really nice. Ask him for a picture.

Tomy,

I like the nice placard that describes your GT, you'll have to post how others can get one like it to display with their cars!

Display Board for FGT

The story of why I have always wanted a Ford GT as well as a personal experience seems to be interesting to the General public at shows. I find that the general public is very interested in specific details of the FGT. Tomy

Why don't you replace the airbag/cover with a new one and keep the signed on safe... I'd hate to be in an accident and have a split Shelby signature.

I kind of doubt that the Shelby signature will be on the top of his list if he wrecks his ford GT. That will probably be one of the last of his concerns. If the car is wrecked bad enough to deploy the airbag, the signature is not really gonna matter anyway, IMHO. Stay safe. No wrecks. There has been enough of those already. :frown

I guess I could part the FGT out as the most valueable GT as it was the last one signed by Carroll. Ha. I'll now drive even more carefull so that doesn't happen. At shows, when I tell people how many FGT's that have been wrecked and totalled and off the street they act like they don't believe me. Tomy

Just be safe Tomy :)

Tomy, any chance you could make that bigger? I would like to read the placards.

All the best...
Rick
