Has anyone here bought the 1:12 scale model yet?

http://www.autoartmodels.com/web/pr...124627485409804CA26F79B874B6134347D09FE67C45A

I'm quite tempted as I have 1:12 scale models of all the special cars I've owned.

Haven't seen it yet. It will probably be at SEMA.

I wonder if it has the Mac!?:ack

Seem to only come in RED. Frank is probably buying the 1st one!

From the photos of the head unit it look like a Mac less car.

No Mac.

Yes, I have one. Yes, red is the only color, which is fine by me:wink Has the six spoke wheels only, but since I have the six spokes and the webs, its a direct match of my car when I'm runnin the six spokes.

Overall, good model, but spendy. Engine detail is good, but not great. The stance of the model and its paint finish are superb. The tires are rubber and were a bit chalky in appearance out of the box, but some armor all on a cotton swab fixed that in about ten seconds. I collect 1:12 scale, and it does not compare in detail or sophistication to the GMP GT40s. It is a great display model, however, and gets you that much closer to the scale of the original.

By the way, I was lucky enough the other day to find an Exoto 1:10 scale GT40 Mark II. Incredible detail, and super hard to come by.

AutoArt

Gentlemen,

I have several AutoArt Ford GT scale models. The biggest of mine is 1:18. They are very well made and I am quite happy with them. All of mine are Yellow/Black and if they made the 1:12 model in yellow I would buy it too.

I like the black LM Spec Test car model

I have both the standard model and the GranTurismo spec car. The spec car is really cool. The GT in carbon fiber with an air spoiler is wicked.

Nice! I'm going to order one. Hope they are not back ordered for long.

This is a more up to date model of the GT. The original ones had a different exhaust system. Too bad it only comes in red.

Does Autoart sell a 1:18 in Midnight Blue? What colors are available in 1:18 Autoart? Chip, is your Autoart 1:18 of a Ford GT?

Autoart make fine models but as one has already observed, a bit pricey.

There is another manufacturer of Ford GT's in 1:12 and they have cars in white, black red and maybe one more color for about $60USD. I'm away from home or I'd run down anl look at the box to tell you the company name, sorry. I can say I found them after searching posts on this site.

As Joe mentioned, they can be had for less.

4 different sizes.

I have Auto Art yellow GT's in many sizes including 1:18. Some of them are slot cars. I have only taken 1 out of the box to display (the 1:18 model). If they make a yellow GT in 1:12 I'll buy that too! You can see from these photos they are very detailed. The steering wheel even turns the front wheels!

Hello Neil,

Could just be that picture... I have them in white/blue and black/silver. Most definitely 1:12. From memory (again, sorry, I'm not at home or I'd just nip down and take pictures / measurements), about 13 or 14inch long, may 7 or 8 wide. Weighs approximately a pound.

Hey Chip,

In your photo, I can see the front end of an autoart Shelby gt500, in white and blue. I got the full scale version in the garage, but can't find a white/blue model. Where did you find yours?

I have a full scale white/blue GT500 in my garage as well. I bought all of those models directly from AutoArt.

AutoArt.com

One of the best things I have purchased from AutoArt is the Ford GT Brake Caliper Clock that hangs in my garage. It has worked perfectly for two years now on the original battery. $104.95 and still available. The 1:18 white/blue GT500 is $84.95 and still available. The red/white is sold out.

I have the Autoart FGT in red and the black LMP test car. Both are nice display cars. But Chip is right the GMP GT40's are much nicer and more detailed. I have the GMP GT40 Mark II black LeMans winner and the Gurney Mark IV LeMans winner in of course Mark IV RED! The GMP models are absolutely beautiful and very very detailed.

These are 1/32 functioning Slot Cars, I have about 15 GT40's. Building a track in my garage that folds off the wall so I can race my kids:
