Been loosely considering an Audi S6 as a possible daily driver or backup car.
Any experience or thoughts on these appreciated.
Thanks

Hey Mitchell. I hated my S8. The stupid thing shuts itself off everytime you open the driver door. But the worst was how lurchy it was when taking off from a stop. Fuel economy was decent though. And it had LOTS of power for highway cruising. But I think Mercedes makes an infinitely better vehicle. I would never choose BMW or Audi again.

It's a "sleeper" car, looks like any other luxury sedan but a furious monster with a lead right foot, and an interior like no other in materials and fit/finish, opt for the Prestige option if you decide to pull the trigger.

I am driving a fully loaded 2015 S6 Wagon as a daily driver for 8000 miles now and it is a very very good car. The interior is kind of perfect and it has lots of electronic gizmos that make travelling short or long distances easy ( night vision view and mighty automatic speed adaption for autobahn driving which basically allows you just to set a speed target and does accelerating/braking on its own, you just need to stir). There is more than enough power, my only small complain is the turbo lag could be smaller, but this is no Problem for a daily driver. I would advise to make a long test drive and see how you like it. Small note, you need to adjust the drive mode, the default is for saving fuel and does make the car feel slow.

FWIW, I had 2 S4's (turbo, and V-8), they were good "touring cars", IE highway cruisers. I wanted something a bit more driver oriented so the last 2 daily drivers have been M3's. If you are considering the S6, perhaps consider the M5 as a contrast.

Have you ever considered a Panamera? If you don't mind the styling, the Turbo is an incredibly capable car. I was impressed by how small it drove for such a large car. Ditto for the Cayenne GTS or Turbo. My preference for a DD is Porsche and then MB depending on what you need in terms of passenger/cargo space.

However, as far as looks go, I think the winner is the RS7. Just too bad it's an Audi. :-)

Comment... with the great support we had from Ford Motor Company in Dearborn at Rally 10, why not consider a Ford Motor Company Product. ?

Forgot one thing: full girlfriend approval, I fear the day it needs to be replaced for a more sporty car.

No shortage of awesome Fords in the stable!
Have a friend selling an S6 which seemed like a possibly cool addition.

How old and how many miles? Usually buying an Audi is a no brainer, rock solid engineered cars.

LOVE the newew S6. You can chip it for about 100+ HP too.
