Aston Martin V8 Vantage?

Does anyone out there have firsthand experience with an Aston Martin Vantage? My wife has fallen in love with the car and I have to admit it's a pretty damn good looking car. After test driving the manu-matic we decided we definitely wanted a 6 speed. The automated manual was far too jerky. The only problem is finding a coupe the color we want.

Anyway, I wondered if anyone here owned one or knew of any problems with them. The nearest dealer is 150 miles and I don't want to have to run over there every week with warranty issues.

Thanks
Keith

If he doesn't see your post & respond on his own, you might PM Neilda and ask him for his input. He's pbly owned most of their factory's output for the past few years! :lol :cheers

Neilda should be your man. I think GTJim had a A-M on order, you might PM him.

Ker-Boing! Here I am! :biggrin

I had an original Vantage one of only 6 made - but that's another story....

The V8V is a terrific car, attractive, uber-stiff chassis (handles great), sounds sublime and is proving to be extremely reliable as a daily driver for those that use them.

There's not much not to like! I have not heard of any reliablity issues. I'm pretty sure it comes with a battery tender (you should check) as most Astons seem to leak electricity! If you're not using it for a week or more, it needs to be hooked up.

As a girls car? I can't think of anything more sensual.

Larry L in Florida has a couple... PM him.

Depends on the girl!:biggrin

I recall seeing a blonde BOMBSHELL (I'm talkin' "centerfold" here) gliding out of a MB 500 rdstr and entering a restaurant on Scottsdale Rd (in Scottsdale, Az, for you aliens!:biggrin) who would have made a Pinto station wagon look just as sensual as any A/M! :eek 'Never will forget the "wide belt" she wore in place of a pair of shorts. Good gallopin' krymuny. :willy

(That gal will definately NOT enjoy growing older...if you get my drift.)

A girl of centerfold quality, i.e. weapons grade sexuality, would make arriving at the Savoy on a donkey look attractive.... :biggrin

'Zactly my point, sir! But you put it soooooo much more beautifully!:thumbsup :cheers

Keith, Also try PM "ing" BartCarter on the forum. When we were at his place during SEMA in 2006 he had several in his stable.

Hey Keith, tell Gail that guy from England named Neil wants her to ride up on a donkey instead (you can use a burro if no donkeys available in your part of Texas). See what she says to that.

PeakCompletions has one as well. Really good looking car. From what I remember, he said they really liked it but (shock) it didn't have enough power for Mr. Twin Turbo Everything.

Only issue is resale, as far as I know. A lightly used version is a very good idea.

A friend of mine has an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, and he loves it. Good build quality, beautiful interior and reliable. Slightly down on power compared to some other cars in its class, but who cares when it makes the noises it does. Manual gearbox is definitely the best option to go for, and I don't think your wife would be disappointed owning one of these cars, as it is the best looking car in its class.

She said she married a donkey that she gets to ride as often as she wants and now she wants something newer and sexier...:confused

Thanks for all the input guys, I agree about the power but I think we're all a little spoiled here. 380 HP ain't bad really. I feel better about the reliability now.

HEEEEEE HAAAAAWWWWW

is there room under the hood for forced induction? the aston that is ... not the wife.
