Either that or a medical situation of some kind. Those rumple strips beside the fog line should have awakened any average guy who might have been "dozing off" - provided the angle of drift wasn't a sharp one...

'Kinda calls into question the EFFECTIVENESS of the guardrail's "bitter end" design, though, doesn't it.
