Are zero-stripe cars ever available?

I ordered my 06 black on black no stripe GT in March of 06. I bought the wheels, the Mac and red calipers, or all options except the painted stripes and ordered the side stripe delete. Everyone who has ever commented says that they love the car and I think this is the best combo that I have ever seen. I guess by luck and my taste I have a rare car. I just had my left knee replaced, so it will be a while before I can even get in, let alone drive her, but we did take a couple of nice drives just after Christmas. She now has about 1500 miles on the clock and I will probably ask my son to take me for a ride when I can get into the passenger side just for a "fix" -I can hardly wait. I really like this beautiful car, especially w/o stripes

The black no stripe and side stripe delete looked GREAT at the rally, I have contemplated removing the side stripe..........
there were If I recall correctly only 2 black no stripe cars at the rally.
I like all colors with out stripes, probably because there are not that many, and of course lighter......

There were no all yellow cars at the rally. Only one yellow car participated, Gary from Festus, MO, and he has stripes with the cat delete headers. The other yellow car there was the Ford mule.

Do you have the window sticker? Does this sticker call out the "Stripe Delete"? Are there a few bucks credited for the deletion?

I thought there was a charge for the side stripe delete, not a credit. Of course I'm wrong about a lot of things (see above) so it's not surprising. 
Perhaps I saw the solid yellow in the plant at Wixom or Saleen? Now I'm gonna have to check all 300 pictures I took...

I thought it was just a no-cost deletion of the option.
But I was curious about the cost of the stripes, purchased separately from the car. Thanks for the ballpark figure, Future GT.

You are right, one was in the factory at Wixom, and I now own it :biggrin It sure is pretty in yellow with no stripes. And fastest (why do you think the call it SPEED yellow?) :banana
The stripes were a standard equipment item. Deletion was no cost. Deletion was not given a credit on pricing I have seen.
At the AZ dinner tonight we were discussing whether the no side stripe cars show the "delete" on the window sticker. Opinion was that they do not. Mine shows the side stripes under standard equipment, but does not have a delete line. Anyone else with no side stripe have anything different?

I ordered a black '06, no stripes, standard wheels, standard radio car in '05. Body Side Tape Stripe Delete was a no cost option #97D as shown on both the Dealer Invoice and Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement (DORA). The Vehicle Order Confirmation (VOC) refers to Option 97D as Race Stripe Delete and the Monroney label(Window Sticker) shows the no-cost option under Optional Equipment but doesn't show an option code.

Hum .......... I guess I need to check more. There is no service record (from the selling dealership) that shows the delete and the dealership said it came that way. That's why I was wondering about the window sticker. I will see if I can get my hands on the various forms mentioned. Maybe it did come with side stripes and the were taken off or were a last minute line change. Don't know, but I will.

Dennis - your GT looks amazing. Thanks to you and George for suggesting that I leave the "FORD GT" portion of the side stripe. I like the results. Fun talking with you both at the cars and coffee show.
No $$ credit was given for the stripe delete. It was called an option (to not get it). Sort of like the heater defroster delete "option" on L88's It does show up on the window sticker as an option

I say that since the black car in the foreground clearly has the painted center stripes but no side stripes - a combination that was never offered by the factory. You could not get the side stripe delete with the painted center stripes.
If your yellow car's window sticker does not list the side stripe delete option, then I think it is likely that the side stripes were removed at some time after inital delivery (a simple thing to do with a hair dryer).

That's what I am starting to look in to. I think at the point in the process that the photo was taken they were still several stations away from the side tape section.
You couldn't get center stripe with the side delete? Didn't know that. That surprises since they seem to be independent of each other in terms of ordering.
