Thought about it but figured it would be cheaper to stay here and be disappointed . I am on waiting list but have doubts
I was going to go, but after asking if basic questions were going to be answered at the event (things like hp, performance numbers, options, weight, cost, etc) I still haven't been answered and I asked the question on Jan 31. I'm really wondering if SRT even has the final specs done yet....I'm kind of doubting it.
I won't be buying a new Gen 5, too long to wait with no real info regarding if it will be worth the wait. I waited on buying a Ford GT because of the promises of the new Gen 5, but now it looks like a car won't be available until Spring 2013.
So I'm keeping my Gen 4 and looking at GT's hard again.

Yup, I know the FGT will be an awesome ride and I'm starting to look more seriously at getting one since I won't be going up to a Gen 5 for at least two years at the pace SRT is releasing info and car availability.
In the meantime, I'm also going to look at a touring type car with 4 seats and auto for me and the wife for long weekend type trips. Some of the possible cars we're considering are the Maserati Gran Turismo, Jag XKR, Nissan GTR or a used Bentley Continental. She's never given me crap about all cars and toys I've bought in the past, but I'd like her to have a car she can drive and throw the dogs in the back seat. She needs a auto because of a bad knee, so she won't even drive the Viper or a FGT.
I do hope SRT hits a home run with the April 4th showing....with the new Mustang at 650 hp it really better have some good numbers or the comparisons will be internet fodder for many months.

My daughter loves her Maserati Coupe...although I don't think she would ever put the dogs in it.

I understand your daughters concerns, but my wife has two small Labradoodles that don't shed and are both neater and have better hygiene than our two teenagers....lol.

If it's close to the die cast model I am already disappointed,, I was hoping for something more radical.. Now that my expectaions have been lowered I will wait to see the real deal..
Get a GT,, a year later you'll want another one,, :thumbsup They will have the Viper sorted out in two to three years by then you won't want one,,

I just received my Media invite to the Viper party, but it conflicts with invite to Land Rover's 25th Anniversary party, not that far away. The reveal will be at 7:30 PM. It's not as exciting, but the food will probably be a lot better (The Park restaurant) and since my son is VP of Jaguar Land Rover North America, my wife and I will show up. Later we hope to sneak over to the Viper party. All the questions about performance and probably price will be answered at new Viper reveal earlier on Wednesday, April 4 at the NY Auto Show Press day.
