Id like to go and would love to hear from attendees last year on tips and tricks for how to get there, where to stay, how to see the race, etc.

Thanks!

If there are Ford GTs racing, it's a high probability. Believe me, we learned ALOT last year. :lol

The 470 euro for the hospitality was completely worth it to have somewhere to sleep, eat, watch TV feed and the 470 euro for the pit passes was worth it to wander the garages whenever we wanted, but we barely used our seats at all. And getting them from the ticketing agents was a complete fiasco. Needless to say, the French were not super duper ultra helpful to the gaggle of Americans (shock). They told Apollo there were no tickets for him because instead of "Terry and Monica Carlson" on the envelope, it said "Terry and Monica Carlton". :rolleyes Wandering around is the best way to see the race. The house we split was fairly nice and was a good break to get away from the track, though it was about 30 minutes away. It was $18,000 for the week for 9 rooms.

Thank goodness DBK rescued us...:thumbsup

Le Mans 2010 was a great experience. If we can get similar arrangements for 2011 we will most likely be there.

As we didn't stay for the whole week, we rented a small autocamper instead of booking an appartement or hotel in the city. The camper way gave us the opportunity to actually stay at the track but still have easy access to sleeping comfortable for a few hours during the night. As this was my first time to Le Mans I didn't quite know now crowded parking, how close to the gates etc. With the camper you can park close to several of the gates and while you may not be alloved to set up camp, you can always used the camper as a retreat when the racing
experience gets too much.

It was a great time and the access to the track, pits , team, garage and GREAT FOOD & hospitality was well worth it...
I just wonder if the Country of France will not have imploded by then ....as they fight over their Retirement age moving from 60 to 62 yrs old??
As of this time, I would not consider going into the country on a US Passport..

When will we know if the GT's are going to be at the 2011 race? Wife is pestering me to get details so she can start figuring out all the logistics.

Hotels in the area?
Rent a car?
What city to fly in?
10 and 12 year old friendly?

Will Matech need a alternate driver?.....Hey coach put me in. ;)

details man, I need details!

I was researching this today. It appears there are a few UK companies that you can buy tickets from.

My vote is for camping in the infield and places will rent you the tent / supplies so you don't have to drag them across the pond.

Train from Paris is the way to go.

OK, we booked flights to London early June leaving Paris around June 16th. That should give us enough time to see London, Le Mans and Paris for a couple of days.
