Is anybody Going? I got invited but it was a little short notice for me. I recently met two really great guys from the group. Post some pictures here please . We'd like to see them !!

I've been a Team Shelby member since 2008. I never made it to one due to weather driving in the mountains this time of year and now that I live here don't have a Mustang any more. I've seen their agenda and it sounds like a pretty good three days, two days at Spring Mountain (on the other track section, not the one we had at R9).

Where and when is the Team Shelby Bash?

Where and when is the Team Shelby Bash?

Annually but dates vary. This one starts tomorrow. Always in vegas

I went in 11. Didn't take my car. It's like going to a different high school where the people like the same things you do but you don't know any of them. Their cars have to brake for turns that you don't have to. I found that out at another Shelby event. I finally pulled over and gave them a 10 minute lead, caught them in about 45 miles.

"The Bash" started as Carroll's 85th Birthday Party. He attended that one and I think one or two more. He said he didn't want it to be about him but about the cars, but by that time he had quickly cut back his public appearances, ie, not coming to the Shelby American Collection stuff (even though they moved it from winger to summer/fall so he wouldn't worry about flu). "The Bash" as continued, but it seems to me that it has become very repetitive, unlike the GT Rallies which when even in the same location are different.

Plus the time of year they schedule it (usually late Feb/early March) make it difficult for people to drive from the east due to weather fears. "So here's the plan. I'll leave Kansas City and drive to Vegas. Yep, right into the weather that the owners manual says you shouldn't drive in." Sort of like deliberately taking a Harley into a thunderstorm. There is a lot of participation from the western US but not many cars from east of the rockies.

It was fun, but bang for the buck it can't compete with the GT rally, if you are looking for an excuse to go to Vegas do it.

Here are a few shots I got today at the Shelby Bash. Lots of really cool cars! :thumbsup

Hey Terry, Thanks for the pictures !! I wish I could have made it..

Any '05-06 Ford GTs there? Nice weather!

Ed

The weather was awesome. :thumbsup Sights, and especially the sounds of all those Shelbys running around was great. The Ford V8s have a much better sound than the Corvettes. :biggrin I think the group had a great time. Met the owner(s) of Shelby Canada, left their card at the track so can't recall names. Nice guys. Unfortunately there were no 05/06 model GTs in the group.:frown
