Car was hot and the temp was 80 degrees and she pulled 640rwhp on a tune that is not agressive. :banana

Where? Whose Tune? Whose Pulley? How Much! Please!

What Abolfaz said! :biggrin

Ditto.

Congratulations on the results. Would you mind sharing:

Pulley size and supplier
ECU program source (SCT, custom, other)
Any other mods (exhaust, etc)

Thanks.

Custom tune paper filters SCT tuner and lab top. Dallas mustang 18psi pulley. With the car being cool I think 660 to 670 should not be out of the question. Stock exhaust, stock filters. Hauls ass

Isn't the 18psi pulley 2.5"?
Any concern about heat and long term engine issues since you increased the boost 50% over stock?
Did this require a shorter belt as well.

Great numbers!!
I thought about increasing the boost to this range, but I think I am going to test the waters at the 15psi range first (25% over stock).

Keep us posted!

What octane gas is needed for this state of tune.

I think the DM pulley is a 2.7". I am hearing conflicting reports on what size pulley yields what type of PSI increase. I imagine also that each car will react slightly differently, due to normal manufacturing variations in the powertrain of each car.

On my car, I am installing a 2.8" pulley this week. This will be able to run fine on 93-94 octane, and also yield approximately 15psi (give or take). I am guessing that my numbers will be around 620 RWHP and 590 lb-ft rwtorque. :biggrin

I'm not an expert at this point on GT mods, but I would presume that an 18 PSI car needs to run at an octane level higher than 94, which is not readily available in my area unless I am willing to carry around octane booster (which I am not).

That sounds aggressive on timing. Take care in the higher gears to listen for pinging. Very stout numbers.

We had to pull a couple of degrees of timing out and add some fuel there was some pinging. Now I have no issues with pinging. My car was strong stock it put down 551rwhp stock.

I was told that the pulley youre using needs a new belt otherwise its going to slip, any ideas?

tuning for 18 psi of boost on a GT is done just like you would on a lightning. you can retune your stock computer to run 2 different programs or more for different levels of octane gas. for instance on my lightning my 91 octane tune dyno's 400 rwhp with 13 degrees of timing. my 100 octane tune dyno's 430 rwhp with 19 degrees of timing. all i have to do is put the correct gasoline in the tank and flip a switch and go from the street to the track. bottomline for any car the more timing you run the more power it will make. but you gotta have high octane gas to prevent detonation. the highest octane unleaded race gas available is sunoco's 104 octane unleaded. beyond this octane level requires tetra ethyl lead to be added which will destroy O2 sensors. engines that have no 02 sensors can run 120 octane leaded race gas if they need it. but at $10 a gallon 120 octane leaded race gas is expensive. and besides only the most all out, race only, hell bent engines, put on kill, need it anyway

Sunoco also has 100 octane unleaded race fuel.

No I have the stock belt and all is ok for now. I have a smaller belt ready to roll just in case, but the belt looks like a pain to change.

Does the car have the 2.5 pulley, any larger and I don't think you get to 18psi

I am not sure I just know it is the 18psi pulley from Dallas Mustang. I will check their website and see what size it is.

I think it is a 2.7.
