I have to believe a stripe free '67 Shelby anything is pretty rare.
Nice find and good luck getting it rockin'.

clarification...its at my Garage Club....a friend got it

My $ would go towards another GT: Gulf or Tungsten

That is awesome Kayvan....does he have her running?

I didn't know they made it with an automatic transmission. Congratulations. :thumbsup

Did Shelby make an automatic GT500?

acoording to wiki yes on auto, who knew

It is also an early '67 with the inboard high beam headlights. They moved them outboard in the grille during the model year. I very special find. Congratulations to your friend.

When did Ford take over the production of Shelbys? 68"?

I seem to recall that the '70 was a pivotal year - each year Ford tried to make the cars a bit more civilized, starting in '67.

In the '70's, I think '72 they finally took it over.

The last Shelby massaged by Carroll Shelby was a 1967...........I purchased a 1968 KR in Feb 1968, and as I remember the car was built at Dearborn...I then found out that Ford did take over the build from the 68's on (till 1969)...the 70's were all left over 69's with some additional mods to entice the new customer...In my opinion, a 1967 GT500 is the ultimate Shelby to own........and this can be seen in the price difference with a 1968. Adding the stripe delete makes this car worth more in my opinion, as no cars came thru Shelby with a overhead stripe, most were added by the selling dealers....... Great find........

I have a good friend who just bought a GT from Fresno about 5 months ago who owned a 67 GT500 Dual 4's with a manual transmission. It was painted Black and it was stripeless. More and more originals with patina are left unrestored. What are the owner's plans?
