I'm in town and happened across the Saleen of Troy facility the other night. I stopped and peered inside to see a Tungsten GT, Parnelli Mustang, and what I believe to be a mock-up of their potential supercar....and a lot of Camilo's stuff on the wall.

Nonetheless...is is worth stopping in? It appears to be just a showroom. Are there any GT doodad's to pick up?

Thanks!

Nice place to visit. Hard to say what they have now, but they treated us very, very well at Rally I and Rally II. There are nice trinkets for sale, including the cars.

How long are you in town for?

Through Friday morning

I think they still have some of the black 2005 "GT Portfolio" books, and it's always a pleasure to chat with Bryan Chambers and Todd Helms, if they are in.

I stopped in last summer and got a tour.. Not much GT production stuff left but It was interesting. There was a Tungsten car there last summer. It was a show car to debut the Tungsten Anniversary color.. it's the only 2005 Tungsten car that was produced,,

I should have looked around last weekend. I was up there for the Gold Cup races with the Offshore boats.

It's worth the time to take a tour if you have the time.

Kingman, if you have some time, I think I can arrange a private tour of Ken's warehouse

This is a very kind offer...that I hope I can accept the next time I am in town. :thumbsup

My time is all booked up this trip now. The only play time will be a mixer for the Meadowbrook Concours d'Elegance Thursday evening. I might also get a chance to see Terry Adderley's Duesenberg collection. :eek

What is the GT sitting behind the S7 with blue seats, steering wheel still wrapped, but NO body panels?

They are going to be doing the Aquada soon. That is the amphibious vehicle.

BTW - at the Somerset Mall, next to 'The Capital Grill', they have a couple cars on display. In particular;

It has to be seen in person to fully appreciate the grandeur of this piece of rolling art. Simply amazing.

Forget the cars now the capitol grille I would have drove accross town for that:thumbsup

Too bad your booked up I would have enjoyed a lunch and a chance to meet you.

Same here. I plan on coming back for either the 'Traffic Jam' or the Woodward Cruise. Those are my old stomping grounds. I'll let you know bud! :driving:

The dream cruise is an awesome don't miss event. I am glad you posted the other event. I had never heard of it!

Kingman, Did you make up your mind about the next visit. Are you in town for the Dream Cruise?

Got into town this evening doogie! Spent most of it cruising or sitting with some buds on Woodward. :thumbsup

Gentlemen...if you haven't seen this yet, it is a MUST DO whenever you can get the chance. MILES of street rods, 4 deep on each side of the street. There had to be at least 2000 spectators with lawn chairs and beverages just watching the action between 15 Mile and 13 Mile Rd this evening.....and it stretches much further.

Woodward Ave is legendary. This is where the 'Big 3' designers/developers would take their latest creation out, late at night for a little match racing against some of the other muscle to see how well they doing, and see what else needed to be tweaked.

Woodward Ave. is where you passed puberty as a kid in your hot rod - Your girl sitting next to you with your Letterman Jacket on. Her class ring hanging on a chain from your rear view mirror...and Bob Seger playing 'Night Moves' on your 8-track tape player.

The smell of racing fuel and burnt rubber is everywhere tonite. The sound of Big Block Detroit Iron envelopes you...and it's only a Thursday evening. Guys are still out, hanging with their buds, drinking a cold one, and stairing at their cars.

Mostly 60's and 70's era cars out this evening. A lot of MOPAR's, 30" wide racing slicks, Kuhl 6-71 Blowers, and wheelie bars :cool

Willy's, Camaro's, Goats.....awesome!

I did catch a white w/blue stripe GT cruising the other way at 11pm tonite in Birmingham. Anybody we know?

I'll be back out again tomorrow night. I'll try to grab a camera and take some pics to share.

doogie - I pm'd you from the DC airport earlier this afternoon. :wink

BTW - an easy way to know where my bud is throwing his shindig is look for President's Tuxedo on Woodward between 14 & 15 Mile.

An added benefit is that he has the girls from Tycoon's - http://www.tycoonsgentlemensclub.com/tycoons_clubpage.html - signing autographs in the parking lot. :biggrin

Not that any of you guys would be interested. :party

If you're on Main Street R.O come to the building with all the Jeeps and the Gulf GT in front. I'm up the stairs, wine store is downstairs.
