Scott - thank you . This will help those Forum members who had the stripes fall off of their vehicles,.

the reason I did this was because the Ford ordering matrix on the stripes is somewhat confusing. they don't list the color together by the placement on the car. so I took it apart and reposted it in hopefully an easier format for those in need down the road.

What is the price for a complete set (white)?

they run 350.00 to do both sides, all 6 pieces.

If anyone is getting a set for the "shelf", they come rolled up. For long term storage, I took them out of the boxes, and laid them out flat.

Great Idea!

Whoa, whoa, whoa here, he is not telling everything. He wraps his wife up in them. .

That's fun (and funny)!

Andy's GT is a stripe-less black.

Only Andy could speak to his wife's preferences. :biggrin

And you just figured it out now after |I pointed out the obvious?

Scott's helpful post motivated me to do the side stripe delete. I was reluctant for two reasons. One, after 12 years would the "new" paint under the stripes look different? Two, what if I had regrets? I now have a set of stripes on the shelf in case I decide to revert.

A tip for anyone doing this. You need to heat the stripes at the ends to get them to release, but heat only the ends. Do not heat the full length.

I heated the full length on one side and all of the glue residue stayed on the car. It took me an hour of rubbing and a lot of denatured alcohol to clean it up.

I heated only the ends on the other side. The stripes were slower to peel off, but 90% of the glue residue stayed on the stripes. Cleanup was about 10 minutes.

Perhaps there is a better solvent, but I figured alcohol was safe.

Thanks again to Scott!

3m adhesive remover is a champ, but your lungs appreciated the softer alcohol fumes.
