The last couple of weeks have been a wild ride for sure. Having the production ready #2 Stage 6 turbo kit has really been extremely fun. I ended up staying the extra week in MI past the rally to run around Woodward at night for the dream cruise. That was also fun but the 2 day drive home from MI to FL was a lot of fun for me as well. If you think your GT garners attention on its try driving across the US with a pair of twins screaming not far from behind your head. The term incognito no longer exists.

The interesting part came in good ole GA when we got hit with some heavy T storms. I drove thru it without a problem granted my rear tires are about at the wear bars so in standing water you had to drive the vehicle with both hands. Overall the car has been flawless and even in those conditions it is remarkable stable no matter what you try to throw at this platform.

I was lucky during the rally to meet a bunch of the Roush Powertrain engineers that I took out for rides in my car. One of the coolest things about that was not only watching these guys get hammered by G forces they weren’t used to in the passenger seat. But to see how genuinely excited they were to get direct feedback from me on their halo car. They all had a hand in its original design and all wanted to know what I disliked about the car. To which I replied nothing at all this thing in one way or another has changed my life. Which is quite true.

Does it feel like lag is an issue, it seems like power begins to come in around 3500 rpm? If you were road racing would it be hard to stay in the power range? How about traction issues when you put your foot into it? Do you have to run some kind of octane boost, and have you gone through the clutch yet? Sorry for so many questions?

We were asked about that at the rally and we have some smaller back housings to try on his car so you can see which power band you will like. For the street and drag racing this set-up works very good, but we know the road racers need a wider power band so you don't have to shift as much. we should be doing that in the next week or so.

Torrie, get a better camera. :biggrin

Hey knock it off about my camera that was one of the initial shots when you were first putting it together in your shop with my sidekick. I have been far to busy going sideways and enjoying the hell out of the TT kit to sit still and play photog in my garage.

Traction in first and second is non existent wih the F1's. My numbers were on pull 3 with no timing and 93 octane with AF in the 10.5:1 range. I have not yet had time to get it back on the dyno and redo the upper part of the curve. I have been immerssed in getting the drivability aspect down perfect. Clutch remains stock for the moment but it is just a matter of time until the stock one checks out.

I think you have that a little backwards man ! I have had time to build the remainder of the curve due to seat time. The highway mileage was no joke and the funny part about that is I did not even attempt to alter the calibration to obtain better mileage at that time. I have made so many changes since I got home that number should go up if you can keep your foot out of it.

AWESOME.... Looks very cool.
What manifolds are you guys using (stock/or modified headers). I think that the headers could help wind the turbos up faster. The pipes on the intake side on this car looks to be bigger than on Joe's car - any differnce??

Thanks.

You know I have to give you a hard time.

So far we have been have using the stock manifolds, if you take the heat shields off and look at them, they are a well designed manifold and we've not had any problems with them. On Joe's new set-up/big motor I want to build some nice headers with merge collecters and see how much more power it will make, the problem will be Joe giving up the car for more than a few days. On Torrie's car there are some changes in the piping and intake hat, we made the charge tubes out of 3" pipe and made the intake a little shorter for more piping room. Both the cars are a blast to drive although i don't have as much time in Torrie's, i'm glad we got it done in time for the rally and he's having alot of fun.

Hey Stage 6, just out of curiosity, can y'all give me a rough idea of the cost of the TT conversion for the GT. Also, how many GTs have y'all done?

Thanks

Wow, lots of power at not to much boost! Do you guys ever think of putting a cage in your car so you could run at one of the standing mile events?

Any idea what these kits are going to cost? Also what kind of install time would be involved, will they be pretty plug and play for an experienced mechanic? I'm not a turbo guy myself as all my cars are s/c'd, but I'd be very interested to know more.
