'08 Scottsdale Rally to the Rally

Gdansk...isn't that Frankie's home town?

While I've been in Gdansk several times, my home town is East St.Louis. Gdansk is the home town of Lech Walesa and of the movement that brought down Communism in Eastern Europe. Bony must be on one hell of trip to be hitting the Baltic states.

Chip,

Arlette and Barry on the 8th, one GT. You did say the pool was clothing optional, so we can save room by not packing suits?
Thx.

Barry

Chip-

I'll be bringing the same rig I drove last year. F250 with Trailex single car trailer. One GT. :thumbsup

Can't wait!

Chip,

Any word on the group rate at the hotel in Scottsdale? Got all my other ducks in a row. Thanks, AC

:frown :bawling

Where's the bawling smilie?

I'm with ya bro... no need to cry... We'll just have to have our own rally! :cheers

Chip,

I may have missed it in the previous 9 pages, but have you decided on a route yet?

I probably won't be able to make it to Scottsdale for the festivities, but I would like link up with the GT caravan en route to Vegas. Are you thinking about going through Havasu or up Hwy 93?

Best Regards,
Waldo

Can we see the Grand Canyon?

Barry,

The pool and jacuzzi at Beck's Landing are textile free. Especially when Veronica has about half a dozen of her girlfriends over. :banana :banana

Makes my banana dance every time! :banana :biggrin

Hotel room rate.

Gentlemen,

My apologies for being late with this information. I hold two events at the Scottsdale Suites Old town Hotel every year and they always take excellent care of us. But as they are renovating one wing of the hotel this summer they were not taking group reservations so I needed to get through to the head honcho event sales manager to get them to make an exception for our exceptional group. That has been accomplished as of this morning and this evening I should have an event code and phone number for members to call. The only real heartburn they had with our group last year was having some of the concrete leading to the underground parking garage damaged by our fearless moderator. They're just now getting over it. :biggrin The normal room rate at that time of year is $159 per night but they will be providing us with a rate of $109 per night when you call (wait till I post the promotional code please) and identify yourself as a member participating in the "Ford GT Owners Event". Once I post the promotional code each member must call and guarantee their room with a credit card. The hotel will provide us with separate secure parking on the bottom level of their hidden underground parking garage. Attendees at last year's Rally to the Rally will tell you that the accommodations for both our cars and ourselves were outstanding. The Marriott Old Town is a beautiful red brick hotel in the heart of old town Scottsdale, close to everything. AND... they have a great bar!! :cheers :cheers :cheers

Again, as soon as they fax me back a promotional code and phone number I will post it up. They have guaranteed us 20 rooms at our killer good guy rate so don't delay. Those members arriving a few days early to have their car worked on by the GT guys can request the promotional rate for those days as well. If you have any questions I can be reached on my cell phone at 602-430-4877.

Chip

Thanks, Chip! "You the Man!" :thumbsup

I'm happy to attest to the exceptional facilities for people and our GT's that Chip has set up. So what did our mod run into there? And regarding "textile free" - we usually have to go to Braco for that! (so how many Jamaica fans are out there?)

Hotel phone number and info.

Gentlemen,

Sorry this took so long but here you go. Members should call Marriott reservations at 1-800-898-5209 and identify themselves as attendees at the "Ford GT Owners" event arriving Monday, September 8, 2008 and checking out on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the Marriott Scottsdale Suites Old Town. Our good guy rate is $109 per night (a $50 per night discount from the normal $159 per night). Again, if you will be arriving a few days early to have the GT Guys perform work on your car, you can request our special group rate for your early arrival days as well.

The hotel's address is ---

Marriott Scottsdale Suites Old Town
7325 E. 3rd Ave
Scottsdale, Arizona 85251

and their local phone number is area code 480-945-1550 (do NOT use the local phone number to make your reservation). If you have any problems or need assistance I can be reached on my cell phone at 602-430-4877.

This is one to be a great event and a most enjoyable tune up for Rally III. See you soon!! :cheers :cheers :cheers

Chip

Hey guys,

I just got off the phone with Chip who asked me to post, on his behalf, that everyone coming to the pre rally wait 24 hours before calling Marriott's 1 800 reservation number to book a room. Apparently the salesman at the hotel needs this time to get the reservation department up to speed. ( I know because I just called them and they knew nothing of this event )

As Chip is totally aware of the situation, he has asked that everyone be patient and that they don't call him -about this - as he is tied up. ( Not literally but then again who knows? :biggrin)

Yes, and Chip asked me to collect pictures of everybody bringing their teenage or college age daughters. Please send them attached to a PM addressed to Dr. Frank

Marriot just called to let me know the 800 reservation number is now up and available for the Scottsdale Rally To The Rally.:thumbsup

My Reservations Are Made.:banana

Chip, thanks for your efforts in setting this up.:cheers

Looking forward to see everyone.:thumbsup
