Can anyone recommend a good trailer to pull a GT or Porsche, or any other toy in? I am looking to buy a Class-A RV, and I need something to tow along.

Type in, "New trailer for hauling GT w photos", in this site's search engine.

Mucho info.

('Pretty hard to beat that Trailex.)

Fantastic. $16,000 though, but I guess that's what it takes...

Florida Chris, myself, and I think a couple other guys have the Trailex. Nice, lightweight, well-built. I'm pleased with it. My only wish is that it had more clearance on each side, but I suspect that's the case with virtually all trailers and such a wide car.

Yeah, I'll call them - see if I can pick one up in Montana or something.

I believe Fast Freddy, Manny and Chip are the other guys pulling a Trailex.

Trailer options

Seach Haulmark and Pace as well. I love my Haulmark EZhauler and it's half the price of a Trailex. Cyclenirvana and I had a long thread on this issue with lots of good input. If you're not looking for some ultralite model than there are plenty of options. I agree the Trailex is the Cadillac but not sure if it's worth the spread. IMHO.

You might want to try ''Classic Trailers'' from Sturgis Mich. I had them build a custom 22foot with winch, stainless exterior fasteners and the HD axles, wheels, tires , extra d-rings, tool cabinets, finished interior, extra lighting etc for about $12k new. It is heavier than the Trailex, but less money,
Pulls well with my Extended Expedition and now my new F-150 Pickup.

HI AJB, do you have pictures of your trailer? I might go this way, sounds like a good way to get extra storage for me. I also have a 64 Impala SS Convertible that I may need to pull around instead so the extra room could help.

It would also be cool to have a way to pull my motorbike if necessary.

Trailer

Featherlite, featherlite, and featherlite.....

With gas prices what they are, they will pay for themselves more quickly than they used to. Plus they don't rust or need paint.

rsvdhd...send me a pm with your address and I will send you some photos with the GT loaded (from the Newport Beach event) , empty and some exterior shots and a copy of my invoice with options etc.

I also had them add a left hand side door (RH side door is standard) and floor mounted motor cycle chocks so that I can haul two Harley Ultra Classics 'nose to tail' down the center of the trailer (without a car naturally).

I also included the sway control/load equalizer bars type hitch and aluminum wheel chocks..

Off to Canfield, Ohio.

Funny this should come up today as I just bought a plane ticket yesterday to Pittsburgh where I will rent an SUV, drive it Canfield, Ohio, and pull my brand-new Trailex 2100 miles back to Arizona. I'm flying to Pittsburgh the day after Thanksgiving. Now, if I was a real stud like Chris I'd pick up some ballast somewhere along the way (Red GT-White stripes) so wouldn't have to haul that trailer home empty. But I'm not. :frown Damn! Oh well. Trailex finished my trailer about a month ago but I've been unable to clear my schedule to go pick it up. I could have them ship it and that might be cheaper than me going out to get it myself but then I'd feel like I wimped out. The last time I drove across the United States in a car was 1978. Since then I have crisscrossed the country over a hundred times in a Pitts Special, Glasair III, and a Cirrus SR22. This time I'm gonna be flying really low and really slow pulling an empty trailer. I can't wait. :biggrin

Chip

Chip, you have PM.

Nathan,

Can you get it down to the Trailex shop? I'd be happy to haul it for you but I won't be going north to Cleveland. It should be much cheaper to get it to Canton than to Scottsdale. I'll haul it to you from Trailex for free.
