    Raised white letters on tires

I guess not so horrible. The terrible wheel gap didn't help.

    Raised white letters on tires

The white letters always look better on the concept cars. Although the concept in this case didn't vary much from the production version.

    Raised white letters on tires

See, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout.

    Raised white letters on tires

They turned out ok. I just don't think they look right on modern-ish cars. Now, cobras with fat AVON's? Yes, please.

    Raised white letters on tires

Yikes. Really digging into the archives with this one, Michael! Not really sure. I put them on the Good Years that came with the car when I bought it. They were timing out, so I changed tires pretty soon thereafter. Looking back at those photos, I can honestly say I'd never do that again:D

change oil in ford gt 2005

How long did you let it crank each time? My first go, I think I held it for a very uncomfortably long time and nothing. Thought for sure I was going to kill the battery. Did it a second time and it finally built oil pressure fairly quickly.

    Air filter change

Thanks to Kendall @nota4re for the tips. I think I would have gone insane trying to pull the airbox out without rocking it backwards. An extra set of hands to put it back in would be helpful but not necessary. My little tip as far as reconnecting the airbox to the intake boot: Tried for a good...

That was from a thread you had posted https://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/threads/fgt-vs-bmw-oil-filter-cap-cage.36556/

Was that wrong? I gave it a good wipe down before I put it back in the cabinet.

change oil in ford gt 2005

Well, this was killing me, so I couldn't wait until the weekend to figure this out. Pulled the filter and.....looks like I have some mish-mash of kits. Mine has both O-rings (but theses are orange/red, not green) and the plugged port hole between the O-rings. First pic is what I pulled out. And...

change oil in ford gt 2005

Certainly possible as in the 10 years I’ve owned this car, this is the first change I’ve done myself. I would have to assume there are hundreds of cars out there running this BMW part because of the scenario you described. I’m definitely no engineer but I’d fine it hard to believe that such...

change oil in ford gt 2005

It’s clear but all the descriptions of what is actually in my car and what was included in the packaging are different from what’s being described. I’ll admit I didn’t pay too close attention to how many O rings were on the bayonet nor did I differentiate whether or not the small piece included...

change oil in ford gt 2005

Yikes. Alright, so @TO AWSUM clarified some of the confusion. But to add to it.....I worked on the oil change with my friend and he's the one that put the washer/O-ring/whatever you want to call it that was supplied with my filter and softball-sized O-ring, onto the bayonet. Photo shows where...

    Changing the oil

Thanks for the link. But unless I'm not understanding your thread (which is ENTIRELY possible), it still doesn't conclude whether or not to use the smaller O-ring.??

Oil Drain Plug gaskets part number??

Yes available but cheapest I found online was around $9 per gasket + shipping. None of the local dealers have them and one wanted $18/gasket!!! The NAPA part works and was $7 for three of them

The 'cage' (at least what I'm referring to) is the cylindrical piece with the tip and green ring that is removable but locks into the cap

change oil in ford gt 2005

First off, I need that manual. Second, UGH! Why would they include the damn thing if you're not supposed to use it?? (I realize the filter has several vehicle applications, but still....Grrrrrr).

    Changing the oil

Hey Jeff. Of course I recall. Great memory. I was on the verge of moving. I was still in Central CA during Vegas. Man....I miss the old rallies:(

change oil in ford gt 2005

The big O-ring is a no-brainer. But indeed that smaller O-ring (definitely a rubber O-ring, and not a crush washer, packaged in the plastic bag along with the larger one) is a head scratcher. The old filter I pulled out along with the plastic cage didn't have one which is why I'm questioning...

Yes, Clint. You're correct. My mistake. That is where I put the new O-ring. The confusion here though is whether or not it should be there at all? When I took out the old filter, it didn't have one.
