New headlights for 2005/6MY Ford GT

Been following the Founders thread on F-chat and the 360/430 owners seem to be pretty happy thus far with the first run of their lights. While I fortunately don't have a need for replacements on my GT at this time, it's good to know these are in the pipeline to get made. I was driving at night...

Got it. I may just pick up another gasket off eBay just in case. And yes, stock TB. Thanks

Gets air, fuel and spark then dies/July 4th Parade pics

@The Grey Ghost @nota4re Thanks for the suggestions. I did have to replace the MAF sensor many moons ago and haven't had issue with it since. I checked and it's rock solid with the red tab secured. Will get some MAF cleaner tomorrow and give that a shot. Kendall, can the IAC valve be cleaned...

Gets air, fuel and spark then dies/July 4th Parade pics

Odd, indeed. I'll certainly check the terminals/connection/ground. Sort of explains some of the symptoms, but not others (i.e. the starting and then dying, remedied by giving it some throttle once I get ignition). Last time I had a bad ground, the dash lights would either be dead or flicker...

    Borla/Ford Racing Cat Delete

It's all very subjective. I have the rear exit header setup Kendall referred to and when I first drove it, I thought "my God, what have I done". 10-11 years on, it's perfect. Actually, sometimes wish it was louder. It's either toned down or I'm just losing my hearing.:D

Gets air, fuel and spark then dies/July 4th Parade pics

Encountered a peculiar issue with my '05. Let me say, I'm in no way blaming them, but this started happening immediately after I took my car in to M2K for some routine maintenance and swapping out a battery tray back in January. Drove my car home after getting some gas at a Shell station (not...

    Replacement Splitter Struts - Adjustable

Kendall comes through with another fix! Looks like I'll be ordering from you again (over the years, transaxle cooler, Fumoto valve and new hood struts, and of course, the PPI Ryan did on my car 13?? years ago). I've never taken a look at the attachment of the OEM struts. Do happen to have a...

2006 Ford GT Oilpump and Serpentine Belts

2005, just turned 20k miles. Accessory, supercharger, and oil pump belts all looked pretty good to me. Likely won't get these changed again for looong time.

Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

Update on Rich’s hardline offering. Got an unexpected package today with replacement hoses and clamps. Fortunately have not installed it yet but did check my original line and it’s a bit greasy along with little rubber bits rubbing off with a brush of a finger.

Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

Mercon V is 'fully synthetic' but don't know if that still means it's an 'oil'? Would like to hear from Rich regarding the black tubing ends of his hardline solution. I just received mine yesterday but am now hesitant to install it if the connections are just going to start weeping in a few months.

2006 Ford GT Oilpump and Serpentine Belts

Gotcha. Makes sense. What are you using to R&R the top torx bolts on the cover?

2006 Ford GT Oilpump and Serpentine Belts

Thanks Kendall. Ok, so just remove the tensioner completely before removing the belt and reinstall after the new belt is in. Got it. Like I said, I'm a visual guy. I understand lining up the notch and the line on the tensioner. But without having actually seen where the belt and tensioner are...

2006 Ford GT Oilpump and Serpentine Belts

Been procrastinating a bit on my next oil change because it's so darned hot this time of year, so I've been accumulating a list of 'while you're out there sweating anyway' things to do (including a battery change that Dr. Frank not-subtly-at all guilted me into as well as Kendall's Fumoto...

    Whats Latest Battery Advice?

Tomy is waaay out there. I haven't seen in a while. I just saw Soroush a few weeks ago. Brought his wife and babies to my house for a birthday shindig. I actually have a minisplit in the garage. Just doesn't work very well. Still a good 90 degrees in there but it does cut down on the humidity a...

    Whats Latest Battery Advice?

I'll just change it. About 5 more months before the outside temp is habitable. I'll probably get to it before then, though.

    Whats Latest Battery Advice?

Leave it to Dr. Frank to tell it like it is. Keeping old(er) cars running is expensive. I've got a few and most of them need something. Just trying to spread the monetary pain out. But more importantly, bending over the frunk with a heavy battery while it's 100 degrees in the shade is just not...

    Whats Latest Battery Advice?

Another thread revival. Just trying to keep the 05-06 forum alive, I guess. Went to take out one of my other cars yesterday and it was dead as a doornail. Battery was 3 years old and always on a CTEK. Spent the better part of the day sourcing a new battery and installing it (which was no small...
