    Poor Man's Transaxle Cooler

Forum Members, One of the surest methods to solve the transaxle venting problem is to install the Ford Racing Performance Products (FRPP) transaxle cooler for the GT. However at $1,300 it was a little too much for what I was willing to pay to solve this problem. Therefore I set out to rig up my...

    Ford Race Header/Exhaust

I have heard nothing but good things about Bob Ida, however, I too am suspicious of the 60hp gain claimed. I am surmising that the horsepower "gain" claimed by Bob Ida can more accurately be described as horsepower "available". For instance, turning off your A/C does not increase engine...

HP gains with exhaust and tune?

Nota4RE, That is what I am waiting for: A smaller, lighter weight, heat reducing muffler delete that doesn't drone at a reasonable price. The system that Beach-GT alludes to in this thread http://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2143 looks promising. Eric

    Tubi Exhaust Installation

Hey Beach, When will the exhaust with removable muffler inserts be ready? Sounds like it may be the best compromise between performance and eliminating highway drone. Will the pipe also be tubular and cut down on engine bay heat? Any weight savings? Eric

    1st Oil change

Fully Synthetic oils with the same American Petroleum Institute rating (e.g., SF, SG etc) are virtually fungible. I believe the highest current rating is SJ. I would go with any 5w50 synthetic oil that is readily available. I do not believe there will be any warranty issues as long the oil is...

HP gains with exhaust and tune?

According to Accufab from another thread: "...Independent dyno tests at Westech show a 12 ft/pound improvement in overall torque and an additional 15 HP over the OEM system. On top of that, the new Accufab X-Pipe saves 44# of weight on the extreme rear end (a 1% improvement on front to rear...

    Tire Life

Has anyone had to replace their tires yet? If so what was the mileage you attained before a new set was required? It would be nice if you could give some context when replying, i.e., give a description of your driving habits. After all, if you're gettin' on it and performing burnouts every day...

    Tubi Exhaust Installation

Re: Kinetics Exhaust Accufab, I believe eShrink was alluding to the exhaust system developed and installed by a local speed shop here in the Atlanta area Call Kinetics Speed Shop. One of the local GT owners and member of this forum (Tungsten) had the Kinetics system installed and later...

    0-60 and Quarter Mile Times

Paul (centerpunch), I remember that issue. They HAD TO rank the GT first. It so toasted the Porsche and the Ferarri, that it left them wondering out loud (in print) whether or not they should have tested the Ford GT against the Carrara GT and the Ferarri Enzo. Eric

    0-60 and Quarter Mile Times

If I can recall accurately, EVO magazine voted the GT Car of the Year for 2005. The finishing order of the voting was GT first, Ferrarl F430 2nd and the Gallardo SE 4th. Eric

    FUEL PIPE/SLOW EVAP REPLACEMENT

ZeroVette, Sorry to hear about your repair woes. However, It appears that most of the problems are dealer inflicted and not characteristic of the cars fundamental design. Both my Viper (9 yars old) AND my GT have both been relatively trouble free. Eric

eShrink, I am surprised the youngsters preferred the looks of the Gallardo over the GT. EVERY person I have met with an opinion on the subject, and EVERY auto magazine that has tested the two together prefer the GT's styling and looks to the Gallardo. Eric

    Transaxle Cooler Install

I agree BlackIce. The instructions that come with Ford Racing cooler directs you to remove the current fittings and replace it with the included "adapters". I believe these adapters are -6AN size based on photos of the plubming. But I could be wrong. Eric
