were tires pressures up to spec? A slow or minimal leak, unnoticed low pressures, can cause high temps, and can cause that. Hope everything works out ok.

If you have normal lights, and the gauges work with key on, and no noise of any kind when you hit the start button, I'm not thinking battery, but guessing starter solenoid, or starter. Although, I'd think that would be odd for a car this new. Best of luck, let us know.
