    Ralphy

I met him at several of the rallies, and heard a few of his stories. A real GT enthusiast and ambassador, and a unique "character"--in a good way--and also one hell of an engineer. Rest in peace, you have earned it. "Send not to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee." --John Donne

    Ed, thanks for that.

    Ford GT - Transaxle Repair?

Make sure the clutch slave cylinder is completely bled and free of bubbles. Do it in accordance with the instructions in the manual. I'm not sure that will fix the noise, but it's something to check before you entertain ideas of removing the transaxle again. .

Looking for front dampers. Hood Damper

I installed Kendall's struts on the front and rear clamshell about 3 years ago. They are still working great.

All audio sources sound like AM radio on McIntosh?

I've been up and down the Blue Ridge Pkwy/Skyline drive a few times too. That pic brings back good memories.

Fuel Pump duty cycle at various RPMs

Interesting idea. I know there are ways to measure the "health" of large electric motors by how much current they draw, temperature, and other parameters. I haven't read in this Forum in 13 years that anyone has applied that to fuel pumps on GTs. You could be the first!

All audio sources sound like AM radio on McIntosh?

Since I don't have X-pipes, I do listen to the audio frequently. Although lately on trips, I've been using AirPods because they have noise cancellation, which cuts wind and road noise, making the audio much clearer at lower volume--which is good for preserving my hearing!

Mike, why did you replace the crossover?

    Ford GT - Transaxle Repair?

Tranny, tranny, tranny! I could make a joke about Jaguars and trannies, especially their recent ad campaign.

    Ford GT - Transaxle Repair?

Caveat: I haven't been inside the GT tranny, so I'm extrapolating from my experience rebuilding other manny trannies. I don't think a worn synchro would cause it to pop out of gear. I suspect it's more likely the shift rods or collars are worn or misaligned. You should at least open it up...

Yeah, silver solder is the preferred repair. Probably what I'll end up doing.

    Speedometer Failure

Before you throw a new battery at the problem: remove, clean and reinstall the battery terminals and loosen, wiggle and retighten the ground cable where it connects to the chassis near the battery. Then hook up another known good battery with jumper cables, then turn the key to ignition, wait...

Catch up on the Impossible GT Project

I bounced the nose splitter coming over the driveway entrance at the hotel. I didn't think it was that hard, cause I've done it a few(!) times before. However, I instantly got hissing, smell of AC refrigerant, and no AC. Since I was heading back to winter in the PNW, I didn't get under there...

    '05 AC dead

Pardon my piggyback on this thread: If anyone has an AC condenser, I need one. I damaged mine back at Rally 14 at Scottsdale in November and just getting around to fixing it.

    '05 AC dead

Learn the hard way. Stop leaks of any kind are bandaid fixes. They are fine for a 200,000+ mile low-value car that you want to keep going cheaply, but not on something valuable or that you want to keep long-term.
