A member mentioning that the 2005-2006 cars now have 20 year old fuel pumps got me thinking.
What is the normal duty cycle of each healthy pump at various rpms with no/little engine load, either stationary or coasting?
My forum search didn't find any direct answer but it did turn up that FP1 runs until 4000 rpm at which time FP2 kicks in.
Could that duty cycle be used to diagnose a pump that still works but is on it's way out?
Thanks, David

Interesting idea. I know there are ways to measure the "health" of large electric motors by how much current they draw, temperature, and other parameters.

I haven't read in this Forum in 13 years that anyone has applied that to fuel pumps on GTs. You could be the first!
