Goodyear tires and the 2005 Ford GT

Indy, (don’t want to derail the Tire thread here, but just to respond) I see why cooler air allows a denser charge for added HP, but unless the charge from the SC is cooler than the charge from a turbo’d motor the reaction to cooler air should be the same. Since water injection effectively adds...

Goodyear tires and the 2005 Ford GT

The higher horse increase for a SC engine vs a turbo'd motor as temps decrease is an interesting phenomenon. Why is this? Also then, shouldn't the GT be especially responsive to water injection?

A solution or two for dealer mark ups/adm fees on new GT!!

One sure way Ford could control the ADM concern and help the enthusiast have a shot at owning after the speculators and show offs get one: double the build quantity to 2,500. More company profits and less wining and dissention from the rabid Ford fans.

Current original FGT owners get first rights on new GT!

Another way to control the dealer from causing buyer animosity by selling the car from whatever they can get (not that there's anything wrong with that...) and also from selling it to one of us loyal GT owners, only to have it flipped on Ebay in a month: "sell" them exclusively on some sort of 4...

Who has picked up on all its neat features yet??

We've heard that one of the reasons there'd be no next gen GT was that the low nose design wouldn't meet the new pedestrian impact reg's. Seems like there must have been a way around that. BTW notice the blacked-out flush A pillars blending in with the glass. I hope that stays.

    '16 Ford GT Color options?

A shape like this really deserves a paint that shows off the curves, and metallics and pearls are best for accentuating them with their changing hues. So IMO any straight color like black, white, and red is low on the list. The heritage with a metallic blue and satin orange would be beautiful...

    2016 FORD GT Gallery

Exactly what was needed to inspire and create the new generation of teenage car enthusiasts. I think there'll be a run on posters from the teenagers and lottery tickets from us.

    Incredible

With CF panels I expect a power/wt ratio of about 4.5, beating 05-06 of 6:1 by quite a bit. I expect to hear some polarizing comments on the styling, but in my opinion a cool crossover showing definitive GT heritage lines (so deserving the GT name) but with beautifully exotic enzo-istic lines...

    Takata airbag recall

I agree about your surgery analogy, I'd rather have some guy work on the car who's replaced a few actuators on Mustangs and never seen a GT than a tech with a GT plaque on the wall who hasn't. I've never heard good words about the service at Sil-Terhar though and have always done my own work so...

    Takata airbag recall

So Ford had a GT training program for technicians? Did they get an accreditation that I can inquire about?

    Takata airbag recall

Another data point. I stopped into the local Ford dealer today about the recall. We have an 05' built in Aug 05' and an 06' built in Dec 05'. Both are showing a recall on the drivers side bag only. I'm also going to wait until Spring to take them in at the chance that the side bags could get...

M2K Motorsports NEW GT Build (Mullet)

I'm curious what the plan is for filtering the intake air. Can't imagine a cleaner way to route all the plumbing.

    Shhhhhh - Don't tell Sinovac

Between the Petunia project and whatever the internal name for this thing is, someone ought to write a book on how you get several hundred people to stay tight lipped about these projects. In the classified world they threaten you with imprisonment - maybe they can learn something from Ford...

Autometer direct fit replacement gauges - Orders accepted beginning Monday 11/10/2014

I got an email back from Brett at Auto Meter. Regarding warranty, same as their other products, 1 year. Regarding a price break for the set of 5, no. Regarding future plans on the tach & speedo, "We have no official plans on developing a stepper motor tach and speedometer at this time, and SVT...

    My 2014 SEMA Photos

Nice representation of the show. I thought the Toyota FT-1 concept was quite handsome, if not a bit over-styled. Hope they build it. I never would have guessed though that the most captivating car in my opinion was the GM bus. Did you happen to see the 4wd street rod with the backwards facing...

    Takata airbag recall

My advice. Trust any dealership no more than you'd trust "Bubba's screen door repair and taxidermy emporium" to work on your car. No matter how good their reputation is, it's not their baby as it is yours. Take a day off work and insist on babysitting with it, no matter how well they come...

    Sema

We'll make a plan at the Wed. dinner. I'd bring my fried speedo but then I'd have to make a new doorstop.

    Sema

Booth 22931. All of us going should stop by and bug em to let them know we're all anxiously waiting and complain / get the scoop about ignoring the speedo and tach burn outs.

    The Rumors keep rolling in!

Many though so. The series became coined "the killer B's". Running 400+ HP on logging roads with big trees instead of guard rails.

    The Rumors keep rolling in!

Sounding familiar. Remember Fords wild RS200 Group B rally car of the mid 80's: mid engine turbo 4... no Le Mans GT car, but would have made quite a road car.
