    Book at the Ritz-Carlton please

Made reservations today. :thumbsup August 8th-13th. Could not get the 'group' rate for the 8th, but was advised to call the hotel back on Monday to see if they'd consider it. -RickM (#2032, 2005 Red/White) :banana

    Canadian VIN#'s

I've been tracking the 2006 VIN#'s for the GT's going on ebay. Abundance of 100-600's, and 800-900's. But no 700 vins...not a one (yet)... Do you suppose Ford reserved the entire 700 vin range for the 100 Canadian destined cars? Anyone able to confirm? Just curious. Thanks, RickM (2005...

    New oil leak

I'm suprised at the number of people reporting similar issues... I'm guessing all cars are effected, it's just a matter of time until everyone experiences a similar issue (when fluid level, temp, etc, are just right). Why hasn't Ford issued a TSB on this? :confused Would be nice to have a...

    GT Gas Cap

Thanks for everyones input! After confirming that it should pop up on it's own, I was able to fix mine. :thumbsup The fix took about 10 minutes. I simply used WD-40 to oil the hinge and spring. Then spent about 10 minutes working the cap up & down to work in the oil (with additional oil...

    Ford GT factory tour

SuperB, Would be interested in what the dealer had to do to fix the noise in the driver door and/or the exact source of the noise... I have a pretty significant vibration (dare I say rattle...It's more of a buzz/vibration) coming from both the driver door, and also from the front...

Another Friday, another "clean, unscheduled" status

Is it me, or is Ford really starting to crank out the GT's? 06 production has been going for 3 months (Nov/Dec/Jan), and they are up to VIN#813 (Centerpunch's car). With 7 months to go, it seems like 2006 production could be in 2500-3000 range! Thoughts?

    Centerpunch question - 2005 production

    My VIN# is 2032 (Red/White). The highest 2005 VIN's I've seen are 2067 & 2068 (on ebay). -RickM

    GT Gas Cap

Question for other GT Owners: When you pull the release handle for the Gas Cap, does the Cap spring open? I'm questioning whether mine works correctly. I have to pull up the release handle, and then pry open (lift up) the cap... Seems like it should pop or spring open, but doesn't. Thanks, RickM

    Interesting Question

I received the 'Ford GT' duffle bag with my car. I have a feeling this was an item added to later VIN cars...just a guess though. My VIN is 2032. Anyone out there have a low # 2005 Vin and the duffle bag?

    Car Carrier / Shipping FAQ

I ended up using Hog Haulers (www.hoghaulers.com). A couple people recommended them. They worked out great. Very professional (18-wheeler) enclosed transport. Price was also reasonable. :thumbsup They picked up & delivered within a couple days of their original target. They operate out of...

    front grill

Best I can tell, Ford eliminated the front grill somewhere between the late 1700 VIN's to early 1800 VIN's. For those not familiar with the discussion, here are a couple photos of cars with & without the front grill screen. Thanks, Rick

    front grill

OK...I was wrong...I thought I remember it having the grill... I just had someone check for me (at the location where the car is stored until it gets shipped to Idaho)...They confirmed they can touch the radiator - no grill! Unless you are road racing and concerned with overheating, it seems...

    front grill

Yes - My build date for VIN# 2032 was Oct 2005. Did Ford build any 2005's in Nov? - Or had they switched to 2006 production by then? Sounds like there should be a couple hundered cars post my VIN# for 2005. Be curious to know how many 2005's and their respective VIN#'s have the new grill...

New GT - 14k below MSRP

Driving it from Illinois to Idaho crossed my mine several times. This time of year, it's simply the road conditions that concern me. Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Northern Utah...Not the best states to be driving such a car in the Winter-time. Right now I've got Hog Haulers (HogHaulers.com)...

    front grill

I just purchased VIN#2032. It has the old-type grill. At what point did they switch 2005's over to the new 'missing' grill design?

New GT - 14k below MSRP

Finally found the car I was looking for at the right price. I just purchased (Dec 16) a new 2005 Red/White with all options & 3miles for 153,500. This was a late model 2005 with the new 166,945 MSRP. VIN# is 2032. I believe the dealer sold slightly below invoice, but made money on the...
