The insides of the Ford GT transaxle...

Well, I guess we'll use this thread as our discussion thread: Who would be interested in a second production run of the 3.90 gears? I can't promise that it will happen for sure but if there is enough interest I will do my best to push it through! Let's use the standard pricing for this just...

The insides of the Ford GT transaxle...

You know something even I don't know! LOL! Although, I do have a feeling that there is a set (already installed) in a car that has gone to the new owner and that the new owner might want the O.E. gearset. As Lorenzo said, we are discussing the next steps for the part of the shop that was...

The insides of the Ford GT transaxle...

We have taken the opportunity to go through the gearboxes and see what, if any, improvements could be made. During this process we have seen a few transaxles that had some broken components inside like bearings, but for the most part everything else is holding up very well. We did discuss the...

The insides of the Ford GT transaxle...

Everything off and all that's left is an empty case and parts on the workbench: One of the very cool things about our relationship with Ricardo is that they gave us the computer program that they use to assemble all of the gearboxes so we can make sure that all of the shims are of the...

The insides of the Ford GT transaxle...

The guys continue to teardown the gears and remove everything until all we have left is an empty case: All the gears, synchros, and bearings laid out on the workbench: Now we can remove some more of the internal gears:

The exposed gears with the rear cap off... Removing first gear: First gear off, exposing some of the very intricate bearings and synchros. Our two trained technicians doing the work...Sorry for the blurry picture. Sam (in the jacket) has been with us for over 15 years, and Juan on the...

The insides of the Ford GT transaxle...

Here are some photos of the tear down process... As you can see the diff comes out first. We disassemble the center section completely and then the back cap comes off. Here is a picture of the diff and ring and pinion sitting on the workbench. This picture shows just the crown wheel...

The insides of the Ford GT transaxle...

I am having a difficult time posting pictures (not very computer savy) so please bear with me over the next couple of days while I slowly load the pictures of the insides of the Ford GT gearbox. In 2006 Team STILLEN went to the New Zealand Targa Rally with the now famous orange Ford GT. 2006...

    Penske Shocks

Functionally speaking the ride height of the shock makes no difference on the performance of the shock. You can install the Penskes and keep them at stock ride height and they will perform exactly the same as if they were lowered an inch or more. There are other benefits to lowered ride height...

    5 Mil Lawsuit

I live near the accident scene and now I do not feel safe traveling down that stretch of road anymore...Not because of the conditions of the road...not because of the lack of a safer barrier...Because I know there are idiots like this guy driving on this road. For that, I feel it is completely...

Chris Amon and the Ford GT

I'm sorry I did not mean to give the impression that chris is still in bad health. I just reread that and see that I wasn't very clear. He is in good health and even competed in a the Targa rally a few years ago with a famous commentator named Murray Walker as his codriver

Chris Amon and the Ford GT

Hello All, Recently I have thought of a couple of threads that I think would be of interest to some of the forum members. Actually, one of the threads was a request of a forum member. Unfortunately, I was working with a computer that was very unreliable and would constantly turn itself off...

    Drifting schools?

I went to Bondurant's two day school a few years ago. I did not attend the drifting school, I was in one of the other high performance driving/racing courses but at the time they were talking about starting a drifting program. I just went to their website to see if they're offering it but I...

    Meet Peter Brock in Atlanta

We actually built that car for Nissan. They dropped it off on March 19 and in 28 days we took a bone stock Nissan 370Z sport model and stripped the interior, built a custom roll cage, custom seat frames for the Sparco racing seats, installed a myriad of performance parts that all conform to...

Miami Runway Event - Sunday, March 14th

I didn't know they had the diffuser also! Hmmm...I should talk to them about the clutch. They would probably like the racing clutch we have. Yea...we didn't exactly get to test the splitter at 220+MPH.
