Miami Runway Event - Sunday, March 14th

Please, my wife has been 215 on the fre....I mean, yeah. :cheers :biggrin :lol

Way to catch yourself!! :rofl:rofl

Hi all,
This was a great time, great event! Ford Gts were well represented with plenty of exotic sports cars there also, Lambos, Saleen S7, Porsche GT, ZR1 and other modified Corvettes, etc...
These little GTs really do attract more than their share of attention, especially when they pretty much outperform just about anything else out there regardless of the modification level. :thumbsup:Ford really did their homework on these gals! We saw a FGT break the standing mile record. Monica ran 192.9 in her first run :eek and backed it up with a 190 :eek:eek:thumbsup. I was flirting with 200 in the mile but only got to 197... until they extended to a 1.25 and I officially have joined the 200+ club with a 202.5 and then a 201.? with Monica in the passenger seat. :banana:banana:thumbsup:thumbsup
She was a little worried about slowing down after she missed the markers at the end of the mile run and after watched a Porsche almost buy the farm trying to catch the record GT run, she was not comfortable running the longer track, (read shorter slow down). I am proud of her for recognizing her limits. There is definitely a technique to this and is a bit different to figure out at each event.
I wish all our friends we met at the Mojave Mile could have been her too.
Piccola was a wonderful support and seeing all of the east coast GT crowd was really wonderful for us.:biggrin:thumbsup
We love this!

Terry congrats to you and Monica!! :thumbsup:thumbsup I am soooooooo jealous. I am dying for the legal.....errrr.........competition certified 200mph run since I can't discuss any other. :wink

Good luck at the Texas Mile and tell Monica to stop giving my wife ideas about how to drive the GT!! :cheers

Terry, i have taken my wife up to 178 mph in my GT and up to 130 mph on the back of my 04' V-Max. i think Monica is the only girl to ever go past 200 mph in a GT :cheers
Thanks Fast Freddy - we were thinking these GTs have made the nation much smaller, but it is still a heck of a long way between these events. We were very fortunate to be able to meet you and so many other great GT people at these events. - wish you could have been here with us!

Is there any questions on the Fastest color FGT? How about it JB Steavens.:thumbsup Great job Guys and Gals.

It's true, they did in fact run 253 mph and in 1 mile. They had a parachute but don’t think they used it.

They didn't need the parachute!!!

Just found out they were running our AP Racing Brakes!

Kyle,
They run your rear diffuser too..:biggrin They did a CF film cover on it.. They had the front splitter piece too but the tore it off,,, literally.. months before.. I know It wasn't meant to handle 220 mph +

I didn't know they had the diffuser also! Hmmm...I should talk to them about the clutch. They would probably like the racing clutch we have.

Yea...we didn't exactly get to test the splitter at 220+MPH.

can anybody explain to me why the Performance Power car has no chin spoiler? i assume that they felt like it was causing to much drag so they got rid of it? what is amazing is that in the vid of their 252.9 mph run you can see that the aerodynamic downforce on the car is tremendous at top speed. the car appeared to be bottomed out on the springs to me both in the front and the rear.......

i wonder what spring rates they are running?
