Lot's of things don't show up on carfax, but at least it's something. Removal of the clam does not seem like a big deal to me. There are many minor repairs that could require clam removal, and it's pretty easy.

What about fiberglass? Boats are subjected to tremendous forces, they sit in the sun all day, those diesels get pretty hot and the fiberglass holds up. Of course the paint gets spider cracks I guess. Would fiberglass be easier to use and better than the plastic? Aluminum would be best, but...

All mine were loose, some about to come off. Seems a few of them broke off the other end. Where's Kip with the CF ones. I'm starting to think the CF console is worth doing, did the parking brake piece ever get done too? I didn't like the look of the console and not the brake.
