I'm curious as lap time with expert in a GT, stock vs one with sticky tires, pulley tune and lowered suspension? Rocket what do you think the numbers would be?

I only tuned my car and switched to Bridgestones. Yes the Whipple is great but I'd get used to the car first. A guy here was showing off in his Whippled GT a few years ago, lost it after mashing the accelerator and spun into a truck, totaling the car. You must remember there is no traction...

I've gotta say...yes the 167k I put into my GT hasn't returned much since I drive the shit out of it...but it's still worth almost what I paid for it 5 years ago..But I'd have lost 50% on the 911 Turbo I was considering at the time..

I think if the SVT guys would have had more time that the GT would be more track ready with oil coolers and such, set up like a 12 Boss or new Shelby.

No, the regular ACR is faster than the ZR1, but about as comfortable as a bed of nails...

I am looking at getting a Boss 302 next year as a daily driver, and noticed that its' Car and Driver VIR Lightening Lap time is only 2 seconds slower than the GT was in 04. It is incredible to me that Ford makes a machine out of the box as fast as the Boss for around 42k these days. I guess...

Ron I was thinking about a Boss 302 as a dd, any opinion on that? Why did you sell yours? Thanks

Great ride with Rocket on Friday! Found out we both have 87 911s owned for over 24 years! Difference is Rocket has tracked for over 25 yrs and I didn't get on a track until 4 yrs ago....

FWI, Treadwell Ford in Mobile is great to service GTs, I've used them for 5 years. The GT trained technician's name is Dragan, he's great.
