    VIR in May!

It was fun; you can see the big puddle at the pit in section of turn 10, and a bit more exiting the carousel; and there was, of all things, a VW that I pointed bye in the last session, that was really turning some good times. I never have run that quickly with the instructor still in the car. My...

    VIR in May!

No need to wait for VIR; the fun has begun; though the first half of the day was rain, and yesterday was at a slightly smaller track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ6uoUxoy6U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp_x1pNR3OA Pete S.

    VIR in May!

Joey, It might run like I run my GT; but good old Mike L. can turn some laps. So can Woodard. And Gino. And Richard. So you may be quicker than at least 1 FGT. Look forward to seeing you down there; and a couple days after in Carlisle. Pete S.

    Cigar Connoisseur's

Two administrations ago while the seniors Pan Am games (bicycle races) were held in Cuba, a good friend who raced, along with all other US competitors, were allowed to carry 2 boxes of cigars back into the US with them. My friend didn't smoke, and put 2 boxes in each bag. Fortunately, I ended up...

    VIR in May!

This event might be a good warm up for those in the area planning on going to the later gathering at VIR: I can say that the 2 FR-500 entrants are also FGT folks on this forum, and I will be signing on before too long. Here is a link to the SVT Cobra Mustangs Page...

A Word of Caution.... Stuck Throttle Body

Found this on my spring time air filter change: been doing only one a year, but may start replacing more often. Pete S.

HELP!! MY FORD IS LEEKING OIL FROM THE oil cooler

Never having done this before, I was sent a photo of the gasket and am including a shot from the manual: Pete S.

    Windshield replacement

Call in the GT Guys. I had a large chunk of track rubber smack my windshield last year with a piece of metal or rock embedded in it causing a nice chip to the glass. I took it to a Safe Light Auto (?) Glass place and they did their clean/epoxy/resin/vacuum/cure thingy and so far, it has held...

    Still in the hunt...questions

. . . and the GT Guys are a stones-throw from Maryland International Raceway this Friday and Saturday doing work on several cars. You should stop in. http://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17822 Pete S.

    Still in the hunt...questions

The GT Guys, Shadowman, and others can be relied upon for supreme service, and everything else anyone could possibly want done to their cars. For oil changes and regular maintenance, it is in many ways the easiest car I have worked on, though a bit more time consuming. Pete S.

    Transmission oil change

With the transaxle cooler, I use a tip by another on the forum. After I have filled it up to the point of fluid at the level of the top filler threads, I put the plug back in and snug it up. I then take the sensor plug off the back of the transaxle unit; carfully as not to damage the O-ring; run...

    Possible new Owner

I am currently trying to trade my 1935 rare (1 of 2) 3.5 Litre Arnold body fast back Airline Saloon Bentley for a 2005 Ford GT. I have a few possible deals in the works. I am a Porsche guy have a RUF BTR C-4 205 MPH street car/race car and a 73 RS Hot rod and passed autocrosser. I love the GT...

GT Guy's coming to Maryland/Virgina III

More like 2-3 tenths here; though New Englander's and probably NY & PA are getting hammered. I believe we are in the clear on this one in MD. Problem with the plows is once the work is done, the roads get too crowded. Pete S.

Matech at Le Mans - what colour...

Not just because my car is red, but is keeping with the '60's Swiss Team that provided GT's to their drivers in this event: But in reality, I think with this new & improved FGT, Matech should go with the colours that best represent their Team. I have yet to see a poor color combination...

SVT Superfest -- Virginia International Raceway -- May 28-30, 2010

John, I am with you on that. Jim's car is ready for a shakedown following his winter work; and I am holding off my winter oil change for a bit longer. Still too much snow and snow melt remains. Maybe you should have your Father bring his nice Ford down to the VIR show, too. Pete S.

SVT Superfest -- Virginia International Raceway -- May 28-30, 2010

This May, there is another fairly large track event at VIR: http://www.svtcobraclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17461 I have not registered yet, still there are 2 FGT's signed on. I expect that my local track buddy, Jim, will bring his quick silver out with me in my red car. I also have a...

Tim Cantwell - Feb 12 Track Day is Officially Launched

Am I ever pleased watching all the vids posted on this thread. Looks like all FGT owners really enjoyed the track, and only one car lost the event. Too bad, but it does happen. On many levels, I will do my best to get out west to one of these gatherings. Well done by all involved. Pete S.
