Availability of Rotella T6 5W-40 synthetic or substitute?

It's time for my annual oil change. Years ago, I switched from the Ford oil to Rotella T6 5W-40 when Ford changed the formulation for the Motorcraft oil. However, now I cannot get the Rotella either. None of the auto parts shops here have it in stock or can get it now. I can buy Rotella T6...

    05/06 Power Steering Hose Deterioration

Is either PS hose pressurized, or just carrying fluid at atmospheric pressure? My large hose is slightly sticky and leaves black marks on a white paper towel, but doesn't seem soft or swollen. I assume that the hose is going bad, but won't be able to change it for a few hundred miles. Safe to drive?

    GT Headlight Restoration

I thought the headlights are sealed? If so, how do they get "scratched or dirty on the inside"?

Engine Vents next to Heated rear glass

That's what I thought, but a better definition of terms helps! I wish someone would make the #2 vents next to the window. I realize they are quite a bit more complex than the simple billet ones and would be more difficult to make. Mine are warping and are now sort of wavy.

Engine Vents next to Heated rear glass

I'm getting a bit confused. As far as I know, the vents directly next to the rear window (No. 2, "rear window vents" on the figure included in message #7) are not and never have been available in billet. The top vents, and the side vents next to the top vents, have been, and I have those. If...

I had an accident in my 06 is there a club or patch?

I see you are in BC. There is a Ford dealer in Seattle who works on many GTs and seems to have a good reputation. I believe they are Bowen Scarff Ford, but I haven't dealt with them. However, if I remember correctly, Jeff here on the Forum has them maintain his 150,000 mile GT. If my info is...

I had an accident in my 06 is there a club or patch?

You can try to get parts from your local Ford dealer. Some parts may be unavailable. You will have to provide at least the VIN of your car to prove that you actually own a GT. Depending on how bad your accident was, you may need to have the frame checked for straightness and the wheels checked...

06 GT pops out of 3rdgear under accelerating?

It is! The part number is apparently OTC 308-602 (printed on the tool itself, which is black plastic. Also says "Made in USA"). I got it on ebay a few years ago and have used it once to check shifting. Also written on the bag is "Rare set rotunda Ford GT tools from dealership". An on line search...

Have you checked shifter adjustment using the factory alignment tool?

One of the few really great video stories about the 05/06 GT!

    Tires!!

If nobody steps up to produce those, and/or if Bridgestone doesn't continue them, seems like the only option will be new wheels that fit a more common tire. Either that or our GTs will be unusable. ARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!

GT Price Curve Now Vs Two Years Ago

This is a very interesting site. But look at the last year or so and you will see that the moving average is entirely below all the sales! I don't see how that could be. It would be better to do a regression to fit the line to the sale prices. If that was done, you can see that there is a strong...

    LE MANS CLASSIC

My wife and I participated in the last one of these celebrations organized by Francis, we would do it again but unfortunately can't this year. I can assure everyone that it is a fantastic opportunity, and if you are able to attend you absolutely should do so. The Classic LeMans is an amazing...

    Insurance Valuation vs miles driven

A GT with 29,000 miles sold on BaT not too long ago. It brought $330K. If you search BaT for FORD GT sales you will find many, although most are low mileage cars. Still, it's a very useful site to find actual sales prices.

Carbon fiber 05-06 Ford GT belly pans

I have Ahlman shocks and I really think their adjustability is a key factor in having them. I can easily adjust to suit the driving I'm going to do - softer for distance travel, harder for performance. Put the stock ones on the shelf ....

    2005-2006 Ford GT tachometer

That's interesting. When I bought my panel and gauges, the panel was anodized black and just slightly smaller than the stock one, so it was much easier (and less finicky) to install. No modifications were needed. Sounds as though things have changed.

    2005-2006 Ford GT tachometer

I changed my entire panel to Speedhuts and have had no problems. In any case, they are warranted and inexpensive to buy individually. I particularly like them because their faces can be formatted to suit your own likes and dislikes and you can work with the designer to make them pretty much custom.

Carbon fiber 05-06 Ford GT belly pans

I absolutely do not believe this. There are parts now that are already impossible to get - see power steering hoses for instance.
