I just removed the airbag module to send the emblem for refurbishment. Does anyone have a part# or SKU for the three rivets that need to be replaced?

I had mine refurbished and did not have to remove the emblem from the airbag trim/module. They did it by taping up the module/trim. You might check if removal is necessary.

Rivets? Please post pics...

There must be a simple solution to this..... maybe a well fitted simple cover ? It is annoying , particularly as it's in front of you all the time !
I got the excellent GT101 wheel centre logos a while ago which look great, come on Dave surely you have a fix ?

There was an overlay offered here, and some members chimed in, rightfully, that this is the airbag, and if it goes off, will be an extra projectile into you face. I dont remember the member that offered them.

Just spoke with Shelby Smith, he can refurbish without removing the airbag. Thanks for the heads up

Appears I don’t need to remove the airbag from the module

We do have a fix - however we remove and refit the airbag which involves drilling out the rivets, then cutting away the plastic where the emblem is secured and slotting in a new emblem, bonding it back in and reassembling etc. That's not a process for DIY and I dread to think of the possible litigation if we supply a part which instructs owners to tamper with a safety critical device. It's just not worth the risk from a business point of view.
If Shelby/Elite have a way of doing it without removing the old emblem then that's definitely preferable.

Remove the explosive portion before shipping it to Shelby, it just unscrews from the actual bag. Don't mess up the bag/horn assembly screw access/vanity covers. They're not cheap.

I have an exchange program with a brand new ford air bag for $500.00..

My fix is these stickers!
I have an extra one if you like

I bought one of the stick on reproduction emblems, I think from Ebay. I bought it after I'd agreed on purchasing my car, but before I inspected it. After seeing the car in person, my emblem is not nearly as noticeable as it looked in pictures. I haven't put it on yet, but it looks really indistinguishable from the original. It's a very thin aluminum piece with a vhb type tape. I didn't think about it becoming a projectile, but it weighs almost nothing.... How is the original attached, and would it be any more risk than the original piece?

....How is the original attached,?...
The emblem is pressed with six tabs that protrude through the plastic airbag cover. Those tabs are folded over and then the plastic is heat staked over the top of the folded tab ends. I'm guessing this is an industry standard way of retaining the emblem.

Gt101 used to make a carbon Fibre version. I put one on my car, easy installation and looks great
