Looking for a power steering hose from the reservoir to the pump…it’s 5/8 in diameter. Can anyone help supply this part? Would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Vance

Great to know - could you please direct me to this thread? After a quick search, I was unable to locate! Much appreciated

I just wanted to offer my insight after searching through thousands of similar-shaped hoses. A piece of straight hose really won't work due to the bend going into the PS pump side.

This hose is from a BMW - The original BMW Part number is listed here https://www.amazon.com/BMW-02-06-Steering-GENUINE-Reservoir/dp/B00G3YG7UY

Here is a link that shows how this particular hose interchanges among hose companies along with their part numbers. You can also do a search of let's say a BMW 325i on Rockauto.

https://partshawk.com/edelmann-80633-power-steering-reservoir-hose.html

Here is an Amazon link with a good photo of the hose: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HFLAM96?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

The Edelmann hose I bought wasn't quite thick as the original discontinued Ford 4G7Z-3A713-AA hose, so I used hose clamps instead of the original spring clamps. It is possible that one of the other brands of hoses are thicker or maybe the OE BMW version.

Anyway, this hose has all the correct bends and shapes and is 5/8 in diameter. The problem is that it is too short on the reservoir end by a few inches.

I used this hose barb: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G3K8L45?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Along with a short piece of 5/8 PS return hose to extend the hose with clamps.

Hopefully, this can tie people over until Rich's revised version reproduction hose becomes available.

Do your home work on the ones offered here. Rich thought he might have a longer lasting solution but haven't seen an update recently

Could this be made to work? Titan UFW Ultraflex 2SNK Braided Hydraulic Hose. Min bend radius 3.5 inch.

Guys, it ain't that complicated. The hose is a return hose, so it's not under pressure. Any oil-rated hose of the correct diameter will work. It would be nice if it had bends molded in approximately the same places, otherwise, just snake it around whatever way it fits best.

Try a heavy equipment service group (Case, Caterpillar, Bobcat, etc). When I was in Colorado they made up hydraulic hoses for my skid loader on site... It might not be rigid with bends though.

Thanks very much for your undoubtedly tedious work to find a similar hose! I bought the genuine BMW hose thinking that because it's not a knockoff, it might be a bit larger diameter than the Edelmann you bought. Compared to the Ford original, the BMW hose seems to be .010-.020 inches smaller diameter, which might not be significant. Could you please measure and post the diameter of the Edelmann hose for comparison?

Many thanks again!
