    Alternator problems

OP - we're trying to help here... A "bad" alternator is NOT going to make the Voltmeter in the car show "0". If a bad alternator is installed, the gauge will show right around 12v when the car is running and ~14v if the alternator is working. If the Voltmeter is showing 0 V, this has NOTHING...

    Alternator problems

Honestly, this is NOT a good way to assess the health of the alternator... especially on a vehicle notorious for faulty gauges. Use a simple voltmeter to measure voltage at the alternator when the car is running. You should get a reading somehere between 13.5 to 14.5V which would indicate that...

    Got Deck Vents Installed

You might consider replacing the studs with ss button head screws with a small washer. When new, these vents shipped with a set of those screws. I think the washers distribute the load a little better on the underside of the clamshell and will mitigate any possibility of cracking or damaging...

    Expensive Oil Change Question

The proper process is to take the oil cap off and remove the old oil filter. Next step is to remove the o-ring from the cap and replace it with the new o-ring that comes with a new filter. Make sure you only have 1 o-ring on the cap. Take the new oil filter cartridge and slide it over the...

    Half Shaft Bolts

Accufab has been out of stock for awhile. Both the Accufab and the OEM upgrade kit are good kits that solve the problem. I'd say we've installed an equal number of each and have never had any problem with either one.

    Gas struts for NFGT doors

Sounds like Galpin. Frank said they were $110 each if you bought them outright (Post 2).

    Sinovac

Very, very sad news. My sincere condolences to friends and family. This community is lessened without his proactive and witty contributions. Especially sad when such a fine person is taken at a young age. We'll miss him.

Just remember that the belly pans are aluminum and will bend if you even look at them funny.

    The Bronco Thread

About 5-6 weeks ago I got a bug up my butt to build another rock crawler. The final year of the Grand Cherokee ZJ (1998), they offered a 5.9L V8 as a last hurrah. I found one with low mileage (104K), grabbed my trailer and drove 5 hours to go get it. For a whopping $5,000, it was a decent buy...

Will, I pulled the trigger. Braptor starts its journey from NY to CA on Monday... presumably will arrive here on Friday.

Anyone else tempted by the aggressive pricing on the 2024 Bronco Raptors? $20-$23K MSRP discounts are readily available. Those with a Braptor - do you think they're a good value at $75K?

    First Gen Cars.

The sad truth is that most GT's are not driven very much <500-1000 mi per year and, as such, maintenance records may seem sparse. Quite frankly there's not a lot of maintenance that can/should be done in GTs that are predominately not driven. In summary, if you're looking at a <2500 mi car...

    Speedometer Stuck

For sure, it will not. A bad/low battery prevents proper gauge initialization but will not fix a "sticky" gauge... which is the first symptom of a gauge failing completely.

    Gas struts for NFGT doors

There is probably a core charge.... either that or when you bought the car, you really didn't buy all of it.
