I love the Ford GT and just wanted to know if anyone wanted to get together for a friendly run against a 996 turbo? I am in West Michigan and the car is a Evoms GT700.

Anyone coming to town for the Metro Cruise this weekend?

good ole buddy. This car is fast people. Plan on bring a whipple or a twin setup to hang with this car. I don't think a pulley will do it.

Come out to chicago, my friend has a Ford GT that will run u.

Hey man, what's up! I definately need to make a trip to Chicago to check out some of the fast rides over there. You should come this weekend to the Metro cruise it will be a blast!

Hey Buddyg....tired of killing 996TTs and Z06s, ha ! Now you're after the big guns...Let's call Joey. Be well man.

Just looking to meet some car guys and have some fun. I would love to run a Z06 I just never seem to run into anything around here. Best races I have had are against crotch rockets they always seem ready to go.

I am not looking to run for money, just want to have some fun. I would love to run a stock Ford GT, one with pulley and tune, Whipple, twin doesn't matter. Joey would kick my butt but hey if he is in the area that would work too!

Todd at Evolution builds some fast TT's.

Cuda have you run against an Evoms tt? If so what mods are on your Ford GT and what was the outcome?

Thanks!

Anyone else flashing back to The Fonz and a nasty black 56' ?

The nasty black 56' spent all night looking for a race.

Didn't find a Ford GT to run with today but did find a Honda CBR 1000 RR. Story is here:

How much more power does your car have since it went 132?

My car use to be a Stage 5 but I have since changed to a GT700. I have not run the GT700 on the track but there are many others that have and they run high 10's at 134 to 136 mph.

DBK noticed your in Detroit are you coming to Grand Rapids for the Metro Cruise at all?

So you went 132 with 644rwhp, and now you have (?) horsepower?

Sorry, not coming out for that. I live on Woodward so I've had my fill...

When it was a Stage 5 the only dyno I did was on an AWD Mustang dyno and it did 520 AWHP as reported in the European Car Magazine article. We had some problems with an intake pipe coming off we had dyno'd higher than that the night before, like 580 AWHP if I remember correctly. European Car tested it in the quarter at 11.2 @ 132 mph.

The 644 rwhp is with the GT700 kit and I have not run it down the dragstrip. But as I mentioned others with the same kit are running high 10's at 134-136 mph.

I would expect your Porch to be noticeably faster than a stock Z06 or stock GT at highway speeds. You may begin to have your hands full if you are next to a GT with loud exhaust, because it will likely have a smaller pulley and 600+ RWHP. If you are next to one of the 50+ GT's with a larger Whipple SC (700+ RWHP) your view will likely be the GT's tail lights. If you find one of the few GT's with TT and 800+ RWHP you will probably wish you had one.

Your upgrades are great. I have a stage 2 on my 996 turbo. My father has stage 5 on his. My GT has a pulley, tune exhaust, etc. But My Ultima Can Am 720 would rock you.

With that said, there are a lot of cars out there that will whip you butt. I got pulled over by a cop once that said I was accelerating too fast from a light. He said you might think you have a car until a 1976 beetle pulls up next to you and blows your doors off.

My point is there is always someone that will crush you, so is it really necessary to brag?

Not being a jerk, just being honest.:cheers

I don't think at any point I have bragged? I just like meeting other car enthusiasts and exercising my cars legs. If you see earlier in the thread when someone brought up Joe's car I said he would kill me but it would still be fun. I know my car is not the fastest out there and would be beat by alot of cars.

I hope you guys have not taken my posts the wrong way. I love the Ford GT and would like to add one to my stable. As far as what it would take in a Ford GT to beat my car I think you would need a Whipple or twin. Pulley and a tune won't do it, however I could be wrong. Again if anyone has one and wants to just have some fun let me know.

Thanks

Buddy

In a standing start, short street race, the Porsche AWD would launch faster and initially accelerate quicker.
