Well, my learning process continues and I think I'm ready to invest in a FRP muffler. Any of you tired of yours? PM me or: [email protected]. Thanks.

With all due respect to Borla owners out there. bypass that puppy and go straight to an x-pipe or h-pipe. The Borla didn't add enough sound to justify the change out. Got rid of it and now I love my Accufab!

After I removed the Borla and installed the MMP pipe the wife no longer likes to ride in the car, too loud ........so......Hmmmm...... So I guess there's another reason to install a straight pipe.

I went right to phase III (Stainless Design long tube header system with metal cats) and I'm glad I did. Sounds great <3000 rpm, but go ankle deep in go pedal and it becomes frighteningly loud. Gives one a reason to not drive insanely fast.

Thanks for all your comments and a successful muffler sale. This Forum is terrific.

ok.... since Howard bought one ... any one got a used x pipe system that they want to unload. :lol

This is a subject that couldn't be more subjective!

I bought the Borla exhaust from a forum member here, and I couldn't be happier! The obnoxiously loud sounds from some of these exhaust suppliers, IMHO, is for teenagers! The precisely tuned sound of the Borla is fantastic! And it’s streetable.

Just one person's opinion. (and there will be many!)

Yes I agree, i bought the borla and i thought it was nice. Not too loud except when you hit the redline. So I decided to go crazy and install the ford long tube racing headers with no cats. Right now it is safe to drive fast. The women and children run for their lives when they hear me from a block away. The road opens up like the parting of the red sea. People just get out of the way cause it sounds like I am drving fast even though I'm not. Sometimes people pull next to me and ask me to just take off from the light so they can see and hear the car go. Of course I make sure to accelerate to 35. Without a burnout.(Kids love it.)

"Im out there Jerry and I'm lovin every minute of it."

Did I mention that I can start a bbq when I downshift.:banana

I could not agree more, I got the Borla and the Ford cat-delete and it sounds
fantastic .
Also just my opinion

This mod seems to be more popular than ever. How about another exhaust comparison at the rally?

I just finished the install of the Borla (FR) muffler on my Heritage car. I really like it. It looks good, saves weight, and is not loud, but "deep", and was easy to install. It made my bumper delete exercise much easier, as the kit was designed to be used with the Borla muffler. I want to keep the Heritage car looking original and more like a race car. There's something about having the "Ford Racing" logo on top that appealed to me also!

guess that is why some of us like blondes, brunettes, little chics, big chics and there may even be a picther-catcher combo in our group.

Too Loud or Too .....

I agree that the long tube header systems are loud. The problem is that more civilized sounding systems all employ a muffler, be it the standard or FRPP type. So the weight (even with the lighter FRPP muffler), center of gravity and heat issues largely remain. IMO, the look of long tube headers exiting straight out the back is stunning ..... without the engine bay clutter and other issues associated with the use of the stock or FRPP muffler. So for me, the trade-off is well worth it.
